Wow! What a view! Our family enjoyed our stay at the condo. The view was amazing. The kitchen was well equipped. The condo was clean but the floor was a bit tacky like there was residue from whatever was used to clean it. The shower head in one of the bathrooms wasn’t working well. I reached out to the host and she was quick to offer to send her handyman over to fix it during our stay. We opted to have him fix it after we left. We would definitely rent again the next time we’re in the area.

Worn, Dated, and Uncomfortable Unit This is a review of unit D302 at the Deer Ridge Mountain Resort as a companion to our video, which has more details. If you are considering staying at the Deer Ridge Mountain Resort, managed by Jackson Mountain Rentals or Jackson Mountain Homes in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, this will give you some idea of what to expect. I will leave some info about what we learned with our experience, along with some pros and cons. If you want to see more detail, watch the video on the internet titled “Review of Deer Ridge Mountain Resort D302 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee - October 2023”. So these are condos that are apparently owned by different individuals. Then Jackson Mountain Rentals handles the business end of booking and taking payments. After looking at the total cost, we actually paid a little over $210.00 a night for our stay. The customer service rep who helped make our reservation over the phone was pleasant and helpful, giving a discount when we made the booking over the phone. If you look for reviews of Jackson Mountain Homes, you will see many bad reviews similar to ours. Some units may be better than others, based on how the original owners furnish and update them. Cons: - Maintenance was sketchy (see video). - Things were old and outdated (see video). - The couch was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. We tried sitting on it for a couple hours one night, and never did again. - The bed in the main bedroom was old, springy, and sagged toward the center. Probably the most uncomfortable bed we’ve ever tried to sleep in. Seriously. - The kitchen has an oven and stove, but no hot pads, one hand towel, no pizza cutter, and no bakeware or anything to help make something in the oven. There were dishes, silver ware, and glasses, but the kitchen overall was not nearly as functional as it could or should be. And the cupboards were old and worn. - The bathroom was dated, like other room items, but it was also worn and tattered. - When we contacted Jackson Mountain Rentals about our negative experience, they said they were sorry and they would pass this information along to maintenance and the condo owner. That is it. Pros: - The view and location. (I guess that’s where they get the demand. The view and location are great, so maybe that’s why they don’t have to care so much about the rooms or bad reviews.) The video shows everything touched on in this review.

They weren't kidding about the view! My sister and I stayed here during our roadtrip through TN. We did really know what to expect , but were pleasantly surprised. It is tucked away in the Smoky Mountains, which makes for a great getaway from the rest of life. The ever changing view of the Smokies was incredible. The condo was stocked with just about everything you could need, and was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was updated and provided towels. The dining and living area was just big enough for the 2 of us, and had a wood-burning fireplace (Unfortunately, it was a million degrees in TN, so we had no need for it.) It was great to have a fridge to store food we picked up at Buc-ee's in Sevierville and wine we purchased in Gatlinburg. The bed was comfortable, and the space was quiet for the most part. There were some noisy kids in another unit that bothered another guest but, we fortunately were not under them. We had a slight issue with a slow draining sink, so I texted the management and they sent someone out immediately, It was fixed by the time we came back from Dollywood. The drive into Gatlinburg or to to Dollywood requires concentration and a good GPS, but was a beautiful challenge. I would suggest updating the kitchen cabinets and removing the carpet in the living room and bedroom. The humid conditions made the carpeted areas less than desirable. As in Mexico, laminate or tile is a better choice. I would definitely return for a future stay, perhaps in the Fall.

Rain Rain Go Away Rented a condo here for a large family vacation (7). The road to the facility can be difficult with a large vehicle, especially in the rain (tire slippage and low clearances). The condo had everything that we needed, but it was a difficult start, as trying to access our email (with room code) was almost impossible due to poor cell phone coverage. Several items in the condo were bagged and marked as owner property that should have been locked up or put in a separate closet. Once settled in (trundle bed linens located) everything was excellent. We utilized the facilities indoor pool, and prepared breakfasts with the included fully equipped kitchen. Bring your own salt/pepper/sugar. It is a 40 minute drive to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge.

A nice surprise Our family of 6 (2 adults 4 kids ages 0-11) absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to go back. It was a fully furnished and equipped apartment style stay with a kitchen. All I had to do was bring the food. It had an oven and all the basic amenities for cooking at home. A glorious view of the smoky mountains was there to greet us dusky and the beds had cute bear quilts on them. It was a perfect price point for our family - affordable and spacious. Generous pool & jacuzzi hours too - we had a blast. Also the staff went extra mile for us - my husband accidentally booked the wrong weekend and they graciously fit us in to a new room (we got there super late too). We loved the location and how it is away from The busy towns. Veteran and military friendly. Cute balcony. Again we really loved it for our family. The walls are a little thin so you can hear the people above you easily. The upholstery / furniture/ workmanship is a little worn down but once again the value is phenomenal and was perfect for a busy family. We had so much fun! Great for cabin like game nights and reminded me of my Childhood too.
