COCKROACHES IN ROOM! “Manager is out of town” excuse for no refund of any kind. Hotel had cockroaches! We stayed a couple years ago and it wasn’t bad for a budget hotel. After having to go to a different hotel because of cockroaches in our room, we were told the Inn has new management. Wouldn’t give us a refund of any sort. Given the excuse of “manager is out of town with no phone signal.” Other hotels have told us that is always their excuse to get out of refunding. Poor business practice. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! We have all our bedding in trash bags until we can wash them somewhere.

Worst ever!! The beds are old and feel like concrete. The bathroom Has NO ventilation. The exterior doors are actually thin interior doors. The bathroom has mold all over the ceiling. The parking is horrible because construction is going on close to it at another property. The hotel allows them to take up all the parking instead of hotel guest that pay for it. The construction people are yelling out stuff and blocking the way hanging right outside the hotel room doors. They had music blasting the whole time. The windows are not actual windows so you can heat everything outside and vice versa. The so called breakfast is nothing. This hotel is old and didn’t care about guest staying there. The rooms are very very dark and hot. DO NOT STAY here!!

Terrible hotel There was mold and black hair all over the bathroom, there was some strange substance floating in the toilet, the bar of soap was covered in something black, the counter that the coffee pot was on was covered in bugs, there was a window on our patio to some kind of storage room and there were people in the room and there were three holes above our beds in the wall between that room and our room that were poorly patched. It was so disgusting that we had to find a new hotel to stay. The room also looks NOTHING like the pictures and I’m not even sure it’s the same hotel in the pictures. The only good thing was the view.

They lost us as customers after repeat stay We were excited to stay here because we had stayed here three years before and had a good experience. It was not high end, but it was reasonably priced and clean. Fast forward to today: the lady at the front desk was not friendly at all-not at check in and certainly not during the stay. We got to our room, and it seemed clean enough though there were lots of basic cosmetic blemishes that stood out quite a bit. There were not any directions on the "fireplace", so we called, and someone came by and showed us how to turn it on. There was a switch on the wall that needed to be flipped in addition to the expected buttons on the appliance. However, it was not a real fireplace at all; it was a cabinet that had colors moving around that resembled flames. This is not at all what I would consider worth paying extra for. We both had to duck to take a shower in the fluctuating temperature, low-pressure water in a child sized tub. I am 5' 6" and the shower head was even with my head. A rounded curtain rod could have helped with the closed in feeling, but it was only a straight rod. The walls were very thin as we could hear everybody in the hallway and the floors felt soft under the flooring. There are no soda/water machines available to get drinks. The lobby had some water in a refrigerator, but we were told the water could not be charged to the room, the front desk could not take a $50 bill, nor would they take a debit/credit card. The lobby is around 1/4 mile from our room (down a steep hill) and were told that around the corner of the lobby there was a drink machine. We found it and paid double what the price was in the lobby where our money was refused and carried several bottles up to our room. They did have room service and were pleasantly surprised that we had fresh towels, and the bed was made when we returned at the end of the day. You just never know post-Covid what service will be available. We had a great view of the Space Needle so we got to watch the ball drop and fireworks for New Years, which was nice. Another positive was we saw a bear at the bottom of the hill. Just the overall unfriendliness from the front desk as well as the dilapidated appearance makes this hotel a turn off now. There are many inconveniences that I wish I had paid a little more and stayed somewhere nicer. It makes me sad to report all this, but I hope management will take notice and do something to improve the conditions because this hotel does have a lot of charm and deserves to be taken care of better.

Grand stay at the Fabulous Chalet! We were very Pleased with our stay at the Fabulous Chalet in Gatlinburg. The Room was very clean and charming as it was adorned with Real wood, stylish accents, and an incredible view; unlike the "cookie cutter" box hotels you see today. I was so Impressed by the unique architecture and real Stone accents, that a little research revealed that in its hayday, it was the Finest motel in all of Gatlinburg. I enjoyed walking the grounds and reflecting on its History, as well as the easy access to the main drag. I also was impressed w how quiet and peaceful it was! In addition the staff was very Kind and Accomadating. The wife and I will certainly return in the future!
