A beautiful place in the forest! HYDROTHERAPY gem!! I was visiting a girlfriend in Anchorage who had suggested we do a gal getaway at Alyeska. I suggested booking thru Expedia and we got a great room on the 8th floor. On the 8th floor is a special room where snacks, wine and beer are served nightly during Happy Hour. In the morning they serve a lovely breakfast with all sorts of options including lox/ bagels, to scrambled eggs and fruit. The view out the window is beautiful. We also booked a massage which incudes a pass into the hydrotherapy park. Here you will find numerous saunas, jacuzzi's, cold plunges, scrub room and yummy places to rest. Once you enter the spa you're given a locker and shoes and robe. It was raining lightly that day so it was nice to have a thermal lined robe with a hoodie that warmed you when walking between the different saunas. Warm, Cool, Rest is the plan for this fun, relaxing adventure. It really puts the AH in SPA! There were a couple of things that were a bit off. If you don't make a reservation at one of the restaurants you will have a hard time finding a place to eat. That's a MUST. There is a sports bar that we managed to get a table but they were packed and the food was just ok. Also, the spa has you pay in advance for your massage and they also add gratuity. I don't mind tipping and usually tip well. The rub (pun intended) was my massage was scheduled for 2:15. I was waiting for 15 minutes. My masseuse didn't greet me until after 2:15 then we visited in the room. It was maybe a 40 minute massage but for the price it should have been a full hour at least.

A nice splurge This is a nice mountain resort for a summer visit to Alaska. There is plenty do at the resort from hiking, walking, etc. It is also just a short ride into the town of Girdwood. We had a very good dinner at the hotel outside on the patio. This is Alaska's only upscale ski resort. We stopped over here for one night on our way back from Seward to Achorage.

SCAMMED AND OVERCHARGED I actually really enjoyed myself in Alaska and my room was nice. Came for my honeymoon and loved the view and food. HOWEVER!!!!! My husband paid in cash $1600 that would cover the remaining cost of our stay but the resort only showed 2 cash payments totaling only about $995.50 and then charged our credit card and additional $962.80!! Although he has called to get this rectified multiple times it still has not been solved and not 1 brown penny has been given in being overcharged and basically SCAMMED almost $600. I loved my time in Alaska but I unless this gets fixed I will BOYCOTT this place and NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!!

Beautiful facility, terrible service The room was very nice and very clean with comfy beds. The room included robes and the bathroom set up was great because the sink was separate from the toilet and it was a very nice sink area with lots of space. The whole resort is very beautiful and I can imagine it must be super cozy in the winter. There is quite a bit of good shopping on site. Service: We tried to call the front desk and hotel operator multiple times at different times during our stay. Each time the phone just rang and rang and no one ever answered. The free pool and jacuzzi close at 9:00 pm and because of the terrible and SLOW service at the restaurants we could never get out of the restaurants before 9 pm so we never got to enjoy the amenities. Additionally, most hotel pools are open until at least 10 or 11 pm so I don't know why they close theirs so early. I lost my sunglasses on my morning walk and when I went to the front desk to ask about lost and found they were completely confused and didn't know anything about the lost and found and couldn't help me at all. The service at Seven Glaciers Restaurant and Forte was HORRIBLE and both times we waited over an hour to get our food. I will review the restaurants separately on Yelp.

It's a ski resort This is a ski resort, so when you are skiing you don't worry about your room. In the summertime the rooms really lacks space and design rationality. The public spaces are very nice. The parking is very touch and go, valet too much. Staff is very good, not great. The Japanese restaurant is truly outstanding.
