Beautiful on the outside, decent on the inside A lovely building within scenic grounds, this hotel is pretty good. The room has everything you need (even in a standard double), including good storage, a sizeable room and bathroom, and even air con (not all rooms have this, we requested it and we got it, thanks!). The air con wasn’t perfect but was better than not having it! We didn’t have breakfast/dinner so can’t comment on that. £149 for a standard room felt £20 or so more expensive than it should’ve been, but not many complaints from me. Check in/check out was quick and easy, and the parking was plentiful. The only slight downsides were that the room/bathroom was a little tired and the shower was a little mouldy, and because the building is old- the floorboards were creaky. Apart from that, it was a nice stay, and a handy location for visiting family in the area.

Hot & uncomfortable Our room was unbearably hot, there was a fan in the room but we couldn’t sleep with the noise of it so had to put up with the heat. Having the window open made no discernible difference. After a while the sash windows started to bang, my partner managed to wedge something in between the frames to stop it. I can’t believe in that size hotel there wasn’t a better room we could have had. I don’t think it had been used recently as bath was dusty etc. It wasn’t really fit for purpose We had a very uncomfortable night. Breakfast not great. Staff friendly & charming but we certainly wouldn’t stay here again.

Fantastic Baby shower! We went here for my sisters baby shower and hired one of their pods. It was such a wonderful day and the pods were decorated beautifully. We enjoyed afternoon tea and the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recommend this venue for any celebration.

Needs updating and a good clean I really really wanted to love this hotel because it looked so lovely. The building and grounds looked fantastic & they were. Plenty of parking Staff were friendly Breakfast in the morning was good Family rooms were a very good size Bathroom was a good size Plenty of towels My main issues were with the furnishings & furniture - they were grotty. I had grey carpet in my room & it was dirty - covered in stains, bedsheets had a stain, armchairs had stains, voile in the window was ripped, blind in the bathroom was covered in stains, radiator in the bathroom was filthy (didn't look at the other radiators), plug holes in basin & bathtub were grimy, thick layer of dust on lampshades by the bed, remote control had so much dust you couldn't see some of the numbers, furniture in public areas were stained, everything was just tired & dated & really needs renovation & cleaning properly. The room was so so hot & opening the windows hardly made a difference. It made it very uncomfortable. There are no lamps in the room apart from the ones on the wall & they're controlled by the same switches so the rooms were either too bright or pitch black (at night). As it stands I wouldn't go back because I can't handle to dirt & grime
