Below expectations Our family cut our stay short at this hotel. Staff seemed annoyed by checking us in. Bathroom wall was moldy and dirty. Rooms were noisy. We switched to another hotel and were happier. Very disappointed

Great location and value Close to town and easy parking. You can easily bike into town. Walking is also okay if 1.5 miles is within your range. Breakfast in AM was good and fast. Helpful to get your day started without a lot of hassle. Friendly helpful staff.

Expected better. Ice machine was broken. Hot tub was colder than the pool and over use of chemicals causing bubbles to over flow everywhere. Hairs all over the bathtub. Room was not ready upon arrival had to wait an additional hour.

Poor Value for money spent For the amount this room cost us, we felt the quality of the whole location could have been much better for our stay. The exterior of the hotel was not well kept up. the stairwells looked to have not been cleaned for a long time. Our bathroom lights did not work. Other lights in the room were also not working. We stayed two nights and our room was never cleaned/tidied up with fresh towels. There was no coffee for our coffee maker, etc. We did not alert the staff about these issues because we had precious limited time during our stay and wanted to be out enjoying the town and not tied up dealing with a poor room. I do not feel that COVID is the reason for these short fallings as many of the restrictions had been lifted during the time of our stay and other locations in the area were not like this.

Going downhill fast…hoping to NOT stay again We’ve been staying at this hotel for over 15 years (used to be Days Inn) & it has really turned dirty & dumpy. Grand Haven is extremely popular but has very few hotels so not many choices. The staff is not friendly & often rude. The room was ok & beds were clean & comfortable, but the floors (carpet & tile) were dirty. Bathroom floor had dirt or something all over. Door was stuck “locked” unless you slammed it open. Staff who finally got us in the room told us we had to push on it really hard, but we actually almost had to body-slam it open. Inside security lock was missing bolt part so it was useless. Exterior door was constantly left open so anyone could come in without a key. Was told that they have breakfast but it was “grab & go” with early hours so we didn’t even bother. (During peak covid it was normal but with pools open, restaurants open & mask mandate lifted in Michigan, they should have had their hot breakfast like in years past). Pool was clean & wonderful as always so at least that was good. Other rooms were extremely noisy & loud & ppl across the hall on first night stayed in the hall (not their room) to loudly socialize which irritated us & kept us up. (Understanding that is out of management control.). We should have requested another room but didn’t feel like moving. They are constantly renovating this hotel & the outside looks pretty with flowering bushes & nice landscaping. The fridge worked well & even had a nice little freezer. This hotel would be so much better with friendly, outgoing front desk staff & better customer service. They have signs all over about “quiet” times & no yelling & no running, plus signs on front counter that customers are not allowed to be abusive to staff, so I’m thinking the VISITORS are a big part of the problem. Also, no elevators so 2nd floor might be hard for some.
