Don't Spend The Money The hotel looked great from the outside and in the lobby but the room did NOT. It appears the owners bought an old Hampton Inn and "converted" it to a Hilton Garden. The bathtub was coming away from the wall. The sink was severely cracked. The TV was the smallest ever! There was old mold around the tub. The bed slept pretty well and the pillows were nice. I have no clue how this place is #2 in Groton; doesn't say much for the other hotels. And this one was EXPENSIVE.

Great staff! Spent one night here. The hotel room is ok. Bed was not comfortable. They are worthy of 4 stars for their stellar front desk and morning breakfast crew. Breakfast was good and had a nice selection. The team are friendly and helpful. Thanks for being awesome!

Bereavement. I needed a dog friendly hotel for Funeral on a Holiday weekend and Hilton reservation line delivered even though the website showed higher rates. The rate was still very expensive but over $100/ night in taxes/ fees was excessive. This Hilton is clean, with relatively quiet rooms while the first floor bar, seating, community lodge spaces and outdoor landscaped garden each are very nice.

Great for family travel, right next to a Walmart This place is super clean and very spacious. It’s right next to Walmart which is super handy when you have forgotten something. They even connected the parking lots!. The pullout couch for the kiddos was actually really comfortable. It’s been maintained and plan to stay here again. Only recommendation, the shades are not dark. If you have kiddos, consider bringing a blackout curtain. The rooms are very bright, the blinds are not darkening.

Worst hotel experience ever Do you like rooms that smell like stake smoke and aren't regularly cleaned? Do you like having no shampoo or clean towels for the duration of your multiple day stay, even after requesting them? How about staff that lie about systems being down, being out of shampoo, or needing to request any kind of room refresh despite signs everywhere saying it's done every other day? How about if you DO request turnover, it just doesn't happen? What if I told you that you could have all that and somehow less all for the low, low cost of double the rates of comparable hotels?? That's right! If this sounds like the place for you, please by all means stay here at the Hilton Garden Inn Mystic/Groton! They'll take an exorbitant amount of your money and do the bare minimum or less to make your stay as unpleasant as possible. Stay away from this outdated, unclean and poorly run establishment. It's Hilton in name only. You're better off sleeping in your car or going to literally any other hotel.
