Great for a short stay We had a quick trip through Harrisburg and stayed here for one night. Solid. Nice hotel with friendly front desk staff who upgraded our room at no cost. Modern lobby with a nice looking restaurant. The room was also modern with a very comfortable bed. It was very quiet at night despite there being lots of teens staying in the hotel for a sports tournament. Four stars because bathroom pocket door was a little broken and TV didn’t work well, but nothing major. They don’t have breakfast included but Roxy’s cafe a few blocks away hit the spot.

The Hilton Harrisburg exceeded all expectations! Loved the hotel and space. I would absolutely recommend and already have another reservation at the end of June and can't wait to come back. My room was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfy. The water pressure was good and there was plenty of hot water on the 14th floor. I want to highlight that the entire staff were friendly and inviting. Special recognition to JP at the front desk. I was not automatically upgraded and JP went the extra mile and was able to provide a Hilton Honors status upgrade upon request. Plus carried on a great conversation with the staff. It really made a difference. I was upgraded to a King Deluxe w/Sofa Bed. That courtesy is so much appreciated as I am finding upgrades less and less frequent and the Thank you's as well (Diamond member) but that was not the case here. Regardless of status, I observed the hotel staff interactions with guests from front desk, housekeeping, and restaurants and all were outstanding. I was even able to take a work call from the room the next day and get a noon checkout. I recommend staying here and finding the location and garage safe. I had heard some horror stories about Harrisburg but did not experience anything negative and this excellent hotel made my stay in Harrisburg such a delight. Will be back at the very end of June and want to check out more of the city and maybe tour the statehouse.

Some pluses, but the room was a disaster First, the good: I compliment the hotel on the staff. Every staff member we encountered, from the trash collector on our hall to the security staffer who tried to fix our broken safe, to the bar tender (Nnenna) at one of our events, and more were friendly and greeted us and wished us a nice day. Also, the food at both dinners our group held in the hotel was outstanding. I mean really good! On the other hand, our room was among the worst hotel rooms we had experienced in recent times. First, the cabinet door to the refrigerator fell off in my hands (being resourceful, I fixed it myself). Next the room safe was inoperable and so corroded inside that the security man ( extremely nice) could not repair it. This attempted repair ate into 30 minutes of our groups' dinner session. Next, the sliding door to the bathroom was jammed and wouldn’t close until lifted it and slid it halfway shut. The security staffer confirmed that its valence cover was also falling off the wall. The chrome lighting and TP holder in the bathroom were all pitted with rust. The drawers of the built in counter of the room were so stuck shut that my wife thought they were decorative. I was finally able to pull them open. The lighting in the bathroom was so dim that while it would have been nice for a spa bath, it was inadequate for shaving or make up. There was no hand soap at the sink. The only soap in the bathroom was a pump bottle on the wall in the shower, so that each time you needed to wash your hands, it required leaning way into the shower and using both hands to get some soap. There was a fancy bowl sink, but it’s drain was so slow that your view was always gray waste water seeping out. Small bits of paper trash lay on the hallway floor all weekend. A used water bottle was sitting at our rooms door at our initial arrival. On the plus side, the room did have a big modern TV. The common areas of the hotel were fine. Also note, it’s a long walk from the self parking in the garage, but at least they have self parking. In summary- very nice staff, good common areas and very good food at the meeting dinners, but the room… one of the worst in a long time.

It's about the people and the service What makes one big city hotel better than another? For me, it's well made cocktails in the bar. a quiet night's sleep in a comfortable bed, and friendly staff. Is the hotel beginning to show it's age? Perhaps. But what never gets old is good service. From the moment I drove up until I parted, I was greeted and treated warmly and professionally, Most notably by valet attendant Marc Hertzog. Well done all of you.

awful hotel and service Very slow checkin experience, front desk person spent 5 minutes typing who knows what before even acknowledging me. Tried to process gouge me. Dated rooms. The only advantage of this place is its location, very surprising there’s not a nice hotel within walking distance of the capitol
