Loved the stay We stayed for 3 nights in North Lodge and the accommodation really is faultless. Very modern, lots of space and well equipped. The only thing I would say is that it is advertised that toiletries are provided so I took none only to find out that we had 1 small bar of soap and 1 miniature bottle of shampoo in our bathroom, that was it! A call to reception did rectify this but we shouldn’t have had to do that. Access to the roof top spa was included and again this is excellent. We had also booked a table for a meal in the Clocktower restaurant and a lift was provided there and back which is great. We had stayed in the hotel a few times, last time about 4years ago so we’re really disappointed with the changed menu, burgers, steak and fish and chips on it. I don’t go to a supposedly up market restaurant for fish and chips! The food we had was very good but such limited choice of mains and it’s not cheap. We will be back but not to dine in the restaurant.

Completely over rated We stayed in a luxury lakeside lodge. Beautiful setting and I loved feeding the ducks but very over rated with not a lot of value for money. The living room decor was very plain and we had some builders in the lodge next door that woke us up at 8.30 each morning (not what you want on a relaxing birthday break). The remote for the fire didn’t work and the outside decking area hadn’t been cleaned prior to our check in. Chairs had bird poo on them and there was lots of pine needles on the couches. We had a meal on the Clocktower restaurant which was average. I had fish and chips and I’m certain the chips were just frozen ones. For 3 x the cost of a chip shop or a standard restaurant, I expected way more. £70 for 2 mains, pint of cider and glass of wine. Staff were all wonderful but I’d save your money as all in all it’s nice but completely over rated and over priced.
