Great stay The room is very nice and the bedding was great and the rooms were quiet. Everything was clean and fresh. The check-in went smooth, and everyone was friendly. The breakfast was just ok. The typical breakfast: cereal, waffles, muffins, bagels, eggs and sausage. The price was $95+.

Worst Hotel Experience Of My Life I am 76 and my husband is 79. We arrived at this hotel at 10:00 pm after a 16 hour drive. I showered and got in bed. I noticed a dirty towel in the bathroom but thought the maids just forgot it. My husband showered and got in the other bed and it was full of actual dirt. We called the desk. They changed the sheets on the one bed at 11:00 pm. I had already been in the other bed for 45 minutes so changing that one after the fact would have done nothing. We were exhausted. When I asked for a refund the next day I was offered $23 “because I has the option to pack up and leave and I had used their water to shower”. Covid is coming back…we are elderly and we were in a filthy room. With dirty towels we doubt the bathroom had been cleaned, The manager just said we could have left - exhausted in a small town in the middle of the night with no other reservation. The manager, Teagan Zachary made it clear we had used his water and didn’t leave so it is our possible health risk and our loss.

Not up to Standards We spent one night in Hays at the Comfort Inn. After staying at a Comfort Inn in Goodland, we expected a better experience than we received in Hays. The room was smaller with a tile floor (no carpet). The phone was not connected to anything so it was unusable. The staff were friendly and were sorry that our phone was not connected to anything - they said they would have someone look at it "tomorrow". The breakfast was probably the best part of the stay. Overall, we would say this is not a good value for the cost.

Skip it, I beg of you!! This hotel is NOT worth $200 a night. It is barely a step above a roach motel. I think they knew a baseball tournament was happening and absolutely jacked the price up. Checkin: the guy was very friendly and helpful. That’s why I rated this 2 stars instead of 1. Pool: all air conditioners were broken in there and it was incredibly hot and stuffy in there. Pool towels are basically 1-ply. Room: very dirty and very dated. Finger smudges all over fridge door. Trash left under the sink cabinet. Peeling paint in the bathroom. Like, chunking off and falling into the tub. Room is also very small, I can’t explain but the pictures didn’t make it look so small and tight, but it definitely was. The bathroom door basically scrapes the toilet when you are closing the door. Bathroom-specific: my 9 year old literally SLIPPED in the shower. No, he was not messing around in there, he had just played baseball all day in the June heat… he just wanted to shower and go to bed. The bathtub is just so smooth and slick that he just slipped. Thank goodness he didn’t break an arm!! Then when I took a shower after him, I was trying to be extra careful and I SLIPPED AS WELL!!! I also had NO HOT WATER when I took mine, NONE. Breakfast: absolutely disgusting. The potatoes were ICE cold, like dang near still frozen. Scrambled eggs were super watery. All empty tables were dirty and we had to find someone to ask to clean a table for us. She was very nice and cleaned it, but the table smelled like dirty rag after she did. I saw the same lady right after putting her bare fingers on spoons and forks as she was refilling them also. Are they not supposed to wear gloves to do that? I at least hope she washed her hands after touching that sour rag. _ We will definitely stay somewhere else next time we are in Hays.

Old, But Still Nice This is an old hotel. The bath tubs and sinks are in dire need of replacement fixtures; however, it was clean. The staff was very friendly, it is in a popular area with a lot of hotels, and the breakfast was a cut above a higher priced competitor where I have previously stayed. We have a small dog and they were very accommodating. I read a review that said this area was dangerous. Really? It backs up to fields and is very safe. I went walking early in the morning and had no problems at all.
