Noisy I was only here for one night, so cannot really comment on surroundings, although the garden looks quite nice, even in the fog. I had a room in the wing which turns out above the kitchen. Avoid this room at all cost as you will be right above an industrial vent of the kitchen which is noisy and runs from 7 am to 10 pm. Reception was not manned when we arrived but eventually we found somebody...

Terrible Not value for money at all and would not recommend it. A colleague of mine also had to move rooms as a result of the similar standard of room as displayed in the pictures I have posted. My room was not as displayed on the website. Despite the surrounding views, the hotel itself is genuine let down. Needs more than just a lick of paint!

Good stay I checked into this lovely building. Receptionist was first class and very helpful. Good directions to room and meal times etc. My room was on the first floor overlooking the massive greenery and then in a dense forest. Room was clean and very good decorative order. Nice buffet breakfast in the Bistro in the morning.

Up and Down I've stayed a couple of times before in the Summer and the grounds make everything great, the winter stay leaves me judging the hotel a little more, the reception and check in is always really good, friendly and efficient, The room I have this time is noisy as its on the front and there is a constant hum from a generator. The bed is very comfy and the room is warm...however there are only 6 working TV channels, which didn't seem to matter in the Summer but when there is nothing else to do it becomes annoying. The Bistro is okay and a bit hit and miss, the bar staff always seem to be noisily entertaining themselves, Monday I had bacon chop which was big and lovely, Tuesday I had the same and it was small and undercooked, others were complaining about undercooked food as well. Soooo in the Summer a great place to be in the winter the flaws show.
