OK BUT LOWER YOUR EXPECTIONS Overall my stay was fine. The room was not cleaned well. The shower door was dirty. There was hair on the bathroom floor I didn't discover until I was already settled. I had a long day and was too tired to move so I did not report it. In the world of Covid -- this is concerning. There was a drinking glass outside my door in the hallway when I checked in. It remained there for 3 days despite housekeeping servicing other rooms on the floor. There was no room service menu in the room. I had to request one. Breakfast was not an option for room service which was also disappointing. No Diet Pepsi/Diet Coke options for the soda machines on the guest floors. I had to go all the way down to the bar to buy a diet soda. The front desk hardly EVER answers the phone. It just rings. I had to call the hotel from the cell to get a person. The hotel says they have shuttle but it only goes to the golf courses. They publicize the free "Dunes Buggy" shuttle service that takes you to the nearby shopping center, except the shuttle is not allowed on Marriott property because the hotel refuses to participate in the program. So the Dunes Buggy will only do pickup/drop off for the shopping center at the little shop a few blocks from the hotel. Then you have to walk the rest of the way. This would be ok except when its 90 degrees & you went shopping. Now you have to walk from the shop all the way up to the hotel in the heat. Lastly, its impossible to get a beach chair which you can only get before 5pm. Make them available thru dusk. With that said, I would return to Marriott if ever int he HHI area.

Don’t waste your money. We arrived at the resort to find that our Vice Presidential suite was dilapidated and in need of a serious update. The ceiling was leaking in the bar area, the pipes were rusted and leaking onto the floor in the bathroom, and the bed sheets didn’t fit the bed properly so we had to continue to get up in the middle of the night and adjust the sheets. The wifi and tv was not working in the entire hotel on night 2. The air conditioning in the master bedroom did not work well on night 1 or 2. The coolest it would get was 75 degrees. And then, on day 2, the AC in the entire building stopped working. Our room was 82 degrees and more humid than the South Carolina weather outdoors. The front desk staff and management was unapologetic and did not seem to have the authority or care to find any solutions for us. This was supposed to be our baby moon and last trip as a couple before our October baby. We were extremely disappointed and disgusted with the condition of the hotel and the lack of action from the staff. Do not waste your time or money with this hotel. We are loyal Marriott customers, but will be looking elsewhere for future travel. Needless to say, we ended up finding the last room at the Omni down the beach and had a fantastic rest of our stay.

wonderful stay From the moment we arrived until we left 10 days later , we could not have been more pleased with our stay at this beutiful beachfront resort. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly, happy and seemed pleased to be working at this property. This reflects well on the management team. The pool/beach area is clearly the nicest on the island, with plenty of shaded loung chairs poolside thar were only steps from the powdery sandy beach. The pool beverage and food service was excellent with live music several days a week. We had a gorgeous large oceanfront room on the 8th floor with sweeping ocean views. Housekkeping services excelled despite COVID restrictions. This is a great property . Negative reviewers need to lighten up and enjoy the wonderful amenities this resort offers.

Have to agree, dated hotel Overpriced and dated, rooms need painting and updated air condition. Smelled like mold in room and we got a humidifier, then it got better. Although we paid over 400 $ night for this. Pool chairs very dated and also pool area. Indoor pool and surroundings were also dated. Location is what you are paying for. Sad because if I had looked for reviews before we booked I never would have booked this hotel. So Marriott, time to step up and change your image. All you pay for is the view.. Breakfast 25 $ pp.

Extremely Disappointed!! Don’t stay here!!! Extremely disappointed upon check-in. A/C was broken, plenty of unhappy guests upon arrival. Rooms outdated, not cleaned and noticeable smell and mold. Mattress was not comfortable at all. Upon calling customer support, email response received days later from Mark Cortes, assistant front office manager, stating he would look into it. How he wasn’t aware already and states he will look into it, is completely unacceptable. With so many written and verbal complaints seen, how is it NOT OBVIOUS that this hotel lacks in so many areas. How are any of these issues not concerning ?! This cannot be Marriott standards!!! The rate charged is insane for what is provided. Will NEVER return to the Marriott in HHI and now even wondering if I would stay at any Marriott after this experience. In addition, it is interesting how my review comments were deleted on the location’s Instagram account and I was blocked for simply nothing my experience. The account is completely staged.
