Very Good Hotel with an Amazing Location Hotel Renew is one of TripAdvisor’s top hotel picks for Waikiki, and I can confirm that it has earned that distinction. For the price, location, service, and amenities, you can’t go wrong. While it is not technically beachfront, it is only a two-minute walk to world-famous Waikiki Beach. Our 9th floor room had an excellent and mostly unobstructed view of the water. Why pay a large premium for another hotel, when Hotel Renew is almost beachfront? Here are my main takeaways: - right on the main Waikiki strip and 2 minutes to the water - very friendly and helpful staff - modern style hotel - clean, but showing a bit of age - free use of beach towels and chairs - free and strong wifi for guests - air conditioning super cold and blows strong (we had to turn it down as it was too cold) - pick up cafe that offers drinks and pre-packaged items and free coffee from 6:00 am to 9:00 am

Not Great The walls of the rooms were very thin so we could hear other guests and their private activities. The key card also kept getting deactivated which meant that we either had to wake our roommates to open or head all the way back to the lobby for re-activation. Also, the vent in the bathroom did not work at all. There was no way to get steam or odors to travel out and the bathrooms were moldy,

Super property, great location The location was perfect very near the beach. Staff are always smiley and friendly. Great variety of beach equipment on rental. Clean rooms. No complains.

Nice but noisy My spouse and I stayed at Hotel Renew probably a decade ago, and I remembered it fondly, thus booked Hotel Renew instead of the conference hotel for my business trip. However, I don't remember it being so loud, and various noises disrupted every night's sleep. The loud whirring of the air conditioner was a sound that maybe I could have gotten used to but for the turning off and on (silence, then noise). During the silences, though, then the daily garbage pickup (?) in the street below (not ocean view) was easier to hear, so maybe not. That and late night revelers certainly aren't within Hotel Renew's control as (maybe) neither are the thin walls that make it so easy to hear others talking and then a guest's dog barking, but much as I appreciated the staff, I can't stay here again. Almost a week without sleep is too much stress. Mahalo for the nice staff in any case.

Great little hotel. Great location just back from the beach, so outside noise was reduced. Customer service was great. The rooms were quite big and clean. Bed was comfortable. Limited appliances in rooms. No kettle just a coffee maker. A small microwave would be convenient. Overall was very happy with my stay.
