Ideal Very welcoming and friendly staff, room was a good size and comfortably, great that it had a kettle. Location central to everything. Just one small problem, every night a live band plays at the pub on the corner until at least 10pm. Can be a little loud and annoying (especially if the band playing in ordinarily). But still a great hotel and somewhere I’d stay again.

Terrible Damien, the valet supervisor, treated me like absolute garbage. Immediately ruined my experience before I even settled into my room. He seems to think "Aloha" means "go jump off a cliff"...thanks for ruining my vacation Damien!!!!!!!!!!!

My worst hotel stay ever. The high saturated instagrammable photos don't hide shoddy rooms and worse service This hotel is not a real 4-star, as many noted. Just look at the pictures. Room's are shoddily constructed, with paper-thin walls and doors huge gaps. You can hear everything through the gaps - 2am partiers and 6am families going for water sports. The amenities are dismal— The furniture is worse than what you can find in a junkyard sale. The TV is like 10 years+ old and smaller than a computer monitor, hanging on the side wall to the left of the bed (I don't know how you watch it). The tiny fridge was loud and dripping water. They use shampoo for the conditioner (even 3-star doesn't do this). There is only fluorescent light in the room, and blinking lights everywhere that you can't turn off when going to sleep. Btw I don't know who they serve, but they fear that you'd steal solo cups for drinking water (see photo! smh!). There is cost-cutting at every detail. Just by painting the garbage furniture gaudy colors doesn't translate to style. For travelers who care about their lodging, it's painful being there. Security is nonexistent. The elevator doesn’t control floor access and the lobby is not secured at night. I feel anyone could walk straight into my room, especially with the shoddy doors. The worst is the service. Arriving early, I was forced to wait from 9am to 3pm in the lobby like a vagrant. Their checkout time is 11am. Any 4-star would know how to prioritize cleaning to allow ONE earlier check-ins. I have reasons to believe that they were deliberate in this. Also, like another reviewer noted, when I requested a room change due to noise, I was told to pack up and check out first. Why can't I just move to the other room directly? Who made this nonsense policy? The hotel also overcharged me significantly. On arrival, I found out that my booking was $400 more than another platform. I asked them to honor the market price. They refused. I said I could cancel and rebook. The receptionist with the sass (as many reviews have commented on) said, with a go F yourself tone, it's your decision to rebook, but we’re still charging you $190 for the first night "because we can." I still rebooked because that still saved me ~$200+, but maybe that's why they made me wait in the lobby "because they can." They also nickel and dime you: $33+/day resort fee for a nonexistent resort (there is not even a gym, what resort!!). They also charged $47/night valet parking which they didn’t tell me until I already parked my car for a day. I don't have the energy to keep arguing with them. Because it’s independently owned, Shoreline Waikiki probably thinks it can do whatever it wants with customers with no repercussions. It lacks professionalism, decency, and any semblance of value for money. A 2-star in the neighborhood is going for higher prices and now I know why. I will never stay at an independently owned hotel again. It's a shoddy airbnb run by greedy amateurs masking as an institution without the airbnb platform's protections. This is my worst ever experience with hotels. I will fight every charge with my credit card company. Save yourself the hassle and seek accommodations elsewhere.

Enjoyed my stay and the location was the highlight! I enjoyed my stay at Shoreline as it was in a really good location, only a 7 minute walk from the beach. It was also clean, room was spacious and staff were nice. You could borrow beach towels and refill your waterbottles for free. Good wifi. Recommend!

Great location if you’re planning to just stay in Waikiki and not drive out. Ridiculous resort and parking fees. It was clean and had charming decor. Good complimentary coffee in the mornings. Great location. Right across what seems to be the pick up for most excursions. If you plan on staying in waikiki and not driving elsewhere it’s a good spot since it’s a close walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. 3 stars because of it’s high resort fees and you had to pay $45/night for parking.
