Expected more for the money and hype The attraction of this hotel is the location, nestled on the Columbia River Gorge. I booked a room at the last minute, having read good things about this hotel; I just needed a place to stay overnight. Because it was late summer, the riverside rooms were all booked, so I got a room on the freeway side, near the parking area. OK, that's not the end of the world. Still, I found the rooms smaller than most comparable hotels, and the furnishings seemed a little tired. The lighting was dim and of course, there was no view. Still paid almost $200 for that experience. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, but the value to money ratio made this just a ho-hum experience for a traveler passing through. Might be a different experience if this had been my destination and I had spent some more time in the area. On the plus side, the hotel is close to the freeway and there is a restaurant on side.

Highly recommend! I can always count on friendly helpful staff at this hotel. It's my go to hotel when I visit Hood River. I stayed in the east wing of the hotel. It was perfect for me: the room was quiet and the bed comfy. The restaurant is right on site, making my stay even nicer knowing I didn't have to drive far to get a good meal.

New management has ruined this hotel Honestly, just sad this used to be one of my favorite hotels. I learned that this hotel is under new management and it surely shows. Besides the fact that you can’t make a reservation for dinner, and besides the fact, it took an hour and a half to be seated once we ordered the food came cold. When we asked the waitress why our food was cold she scoffed at us took our plates came back five minutes later and said is this warm enough? We’re pretty sure she just microwaved our food. We also went to the bar and lounge, which, unfortunately the bartender did not know how to make a Moscow Mule, which was shocking the attempt was appreciated. The drink was terrible. I can’t believe she still charged us for it just unhappy with the overall stay, I won’t be coming back.

Great spot in Hood River This Best Western is a gem - and exceeded our expectactions in every way. We stayed here when attending a wedding nearby and everyone in our group was impressed. This is not your typical Best Western. It is right on the river with beautiful views. The restaurant is fantastic - patio dining over the river. The bar is large and has great appetizers and cocktals. We did a great walk in the morning on a path along the river. We would stay here again - get a room with a river view and balcony - it's worth it.

Wonderful Best Western Plus - a step above others! This is the nicest stay we had on our three week, seven state road trip! Room with a river view and balcony were delightful, restaurant was outstanding, linens and towels top notch. Very enjoyable for our last night before heading home. Would stay here again for sure!
