Anniversary experience We weren't able to get out of town to celebrate our 12-year wedding anniversary, so I wanted to find the nicest hotel in Houston to spend some time with my wife. Drawn here by its reputation for elegance and its fantastic location; this hotel is undeniably beautiful and classy, fitting perfectly what we were looking for. However, our initial experience left us feeling a bit disappointed with the service, and we started to wonder if the hotel truly understood what 5-star meant. Fortunately, things took a turn for the better when I shared my concerns. Christine, the Director of Rooms, was incredibly understanding and went out of her way to make things right. Christine not only apologized sincerely but also assured us that our feedback would be used to improve staff training. She even invited us back for another stay, promising that we'd experience the level of service she expects from her team. I understand that everyone is human and can have a bad night so we decided to give the hotel another chance. We're so glad we did! Our second visit exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to impeccable hospitality that felt like it exceeded the usual 5-star standard. Every detail was taken care of, and the staff made sure our anniversary celebration was truly special. When a hotel is this nice and also shines with exceptional customer service, it really stands out. We're grateful to Christine and the entire team for turning our stay into an unforgettable anniversary experience. We're already looking forward to returning and enjoying their outstanding service once again.

Best 5 Star in Houston My wife and I stayed in the Tower during Christmas 2023. We stayed at the Bungalow during our previous stay at the La Colombe. Having experienced both, we recommend staying in the limited Tower rooms, if available. They have a more modern finish and are worthy of the 5-star classification of the hotel. However, if you would like more square footage, then we would recommend the Bungalow(s). The Bungalows have modern finishes too, but some of it is dated (not too much to make them unworthy of a stay). Overall you cannot go wrong staying here relative to other options in the Houston market (if you want to stay at a 5-star hotel). We have stayed at a few other hotels in downtown Houston and so far this one has beaten the rest (think JW Marriot, etc... in a heads-up comparison). The staff was attentive to our needs and had little touches along the way during our stay (we don't want to ruin any of their sneaky surprises but needless to say there were more than one during our stay). The only knock we can think of is limited parking but their valet staff handled our car with care, so that ended up being a non-issue (so long as you bake in the daily valet cost into your budget). One last thing, location. You're on Montrose, which is definitely one of the main attractions of this hotel. It's not overwhelming driving on Montrose relative to some other locations in Houston and there is killer food all around this area. Check out Handies Douzo for some killer handrolls. Also, the food/drink options on site are worthy of a visit as well. Thank you La Colombe team for our wonderful stay during the holidays and we look forward to staying with you in the future.

11/10 Would Recommend Just got back from a work trip and stayed at La Colombe d'Or in Houston's Montrose district. Christine and Grace were total pros – they made check-in a breeze and were really helpful throughout our stay. The hotel had everything we needed for a productive trip – clean rooms, good Wi-Fi, and a quiet atmosphere. And can we talk about the food? Seriously delicious. Overall, if you're in Houston and need a place to stay that's both classy and cozy, La Colombe d'Or is where it's at. Give it a whirl – you won't be disappointed!

Elegance and Professionalism - a true gem! Absolutely fantastic! Stayed at La Colombe at the recommendation for a friend at the end of a business trip. After 5 days in a crappy “conference” hotel - the professionalism, beauty, and immaculate hospitality and finishes at the hotel could not have been more welcoming. Every single employee BEYOND professional and friendly. Special shout outs to bartender Viktor - a true mixologist, Mauricio (spelling) at Guest Services/Concierge check in and the Valet who rescued our visiting friend’s 10ft inflatable whale from pending doom in the middle of the street (having flown off the rooftop bar). Truly impeccable service. My only regret is we weren’t able to enjoy the dining and we had to leave so soon!

A Gem in Houston What a great gem of an addition to the hotel industry in Houston! From service to the luxurious rooms (was in main building above reception in the Van Gogh Room), to the fab cocktails in the bar, loved everything. Love the story behind it & the art connections too
