Meh - “mid” as my teens would say. Underwhelming for what you pay. Meh. Or “mid” as my teens would say. We stay there every year while dropping our kids at a local camp as it’s one of the only dog friendly hotels in the area. Food at Maple bar was ok but overpriced. Buffet is crazy expensive so we often go into Huntsville to eat instead. But they did finally open a coffee shop that opens at 7 am… guess our years of suggesting this finally paid off! They took all the comfy armchairs out of the Pavilion rooms so there is nowhere to sit other than the desk or on a bed. Waited an hour and a half for our requested extra pillows (only one per person on the bed… Were two pillow people). When I called down to ask where they were, we were informed the hotel had run out. Mould all over the grout in the shower. No charging ports in the room. And, apparently no housekeeping but we were not alerted to this on checkin. At the pice we are paying, I expect a lot more of a hotel at this price point.

Terrible communication and service I am on night four of a five night stay at deerhurst with my family of five and our friends (another family of five). Trying to reserve a table for dinner every night has been the most frustrating experience of any vacation in recent memory. I tried booking them in advance of our trip but could not do it online as we are a group of 10 and the online booking cannot book more than 4-5 people in a reservation. So I figured I would book them upon checking in, but was told the front desk can’t book groups that large and I would have to contact the restaurants directly. I spent far too much time every day trying to get a restaurant on the phone, but they were either closed, not answering their phones or not returning my voicemails. We were unable to get reservations three of the five nights we were here, and we have young kids so it’s no fun to improvise dinner at the end of a long day. Vacation is supposed to be easy, it should not be that difficult to make a dinner reservation. If you are travelling in a group larger than four, I highly recommend trying to get your reservations sorted way in advance (if you can).

Disappointed Dirty, not maintained well and very poorly managed. Rooms are dirty and no service or cleaning available for the whole 4 days we were there. Facilities are not maintained well, called for shuttle service multiple times with no shuttle service available to the point that we were 15 minutes late to our dinner reservation at Antler. Prices for food are steep at Eclipse and food was average.

Great for a family trip. This place is great for a family trip. The resort is nice, close to the beach, pool accessible as well. There is kayaking, canoeing and paddle boating that is included with your stay. Overall great experience and would love to come back.

Disappointing Resort is outdated and they have let all the landscaping and grounds get overgrown. Only students work here, didn’t see any senior staff.
