Ridiculous resort fees Just visited Holiday Inn Harbourside Been here numerous times but now there is this horrible resort fee for WiFi not needed parking not required and also for entertainment didn’t go due to better acts in local bars So $254 charged for nothing over the week.Did get our room Clarice during the week which seems a bonus. Get your act together and scrap these silly money making fees. Also get someone to check pool area to replace towels to save ourselves and reception staff getting fed up asking

Broken arm, broken promise Stayed here for 2 nights in August 23 after staying many times previously. Booked a room for 2 adults and children (7 and 5). Unfortunately on the first night our son (5) fell off the bed and broke his arm. (The beds are extremely high and not really suitable for young children). Spent the first evening in the hospital and then of course no swimming for our little boy so a very different stay to the one imagined. We didn't kick up a fuss or anything and accepted what happened as an accident. A duty manager who dealt with us at the time told us to get in contact next time we visit and they would "look after us". We were happy with this and took no further action. We made contact directly last month for our next trip in August this year and received an email back saying sorry for the accident last year and an "offer" of a room rate for our 3 nights. Well the "offer" was more expensive than any of the normal online agents we use to book hotels! Thank you very much! I emailed this back and got no reply. Seriously?! Basic good old fashion guest relations is urgently needed here. I would welcome some direct communication back on this.

Showing its Age We've stayed here many times, but this was the 1st in many years. Had 2 reservations with different rate types and asked them to let us stay in same room both nights, which they did. Was upgraded to 2 floor room, but it's getting harder to go up and down stairs so I may request the best possible one floor room, if there's a next time. The 2 floor room would be much better with a half bath (toilet) on the lower floor. Tub looked good and must have been refurbished recently. For my status, I receive breakfast. It was better than expected, but the staff the first day were too preoccupied with their personal lives and shared many stories from just inside the kitchen area. I am not a fan of the resort fee, but since it included parking, I felt I got at least some ROI. Staff were ok, but the wifi stopped working a few hours after our arrival and didn't work for about 24 hours. When I inquired the first 2 times, I was told it was my phone! Finally, someone admitted that it was not working! I had my server plan so I was able to connect but don't like to waste my minutes. Some of the wooden planks in the 2nd floor walkway seem to be on their last day so I hope no one falls through! All in all, a good stay. They still provided bottles and soaps and had no squeeze bottles as most place do nowadays. The last hotel I stayed in like this left IHG the next month. I wonder if this hotel is going to be demolished for condos or totally redone. I hope the latter. Also, enjoyed seeing the many birds on and near our balcony overlooking the intercoastal waterway.

BA Travellers beware before booking Holiday Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach S-Harbourside, an IHG Hotel Indian Rocks Beach 954233856 Stayed here early part of January which was part of a British Airways package, when i checked in i was greeted by a $32 + tax a night stealth cost for car park and one day voucher for Harbour water park ( its winter and park was not even open). When I got into the room 320 the decor looked like it was from the 70s-80s and came with a musty smell, the only thing modern was the tv and coffee machine. The bathroom was dated as well and the sink basin had a nice crack in it and the doors below were just hanging there and could not be closed. I have stayed many a time in Florida since the mid 70s and I know there are some cheap motels / hotels out there but with Holiday inn you expect to get your room serviced at least every other day (towels bed hover) but nothing. when I aired my concerns on day six the reception staff reply was " Oh so you want your room cleaned " with a flippant attitude not even a apology. At that point i told them not to bother and over a cold beer i thought it best to cut my losses and got my self booked in at a Hamptons inn a few miles in land which also included breakfast. My booking was for a ten night stay and in all my years i have never had to check out early so when I hand my key in on day six I was told that I had to speak to a manager, i declined the offer but she still went and got her manager. when she came out with a male staff member in the back ground, when i advised her on all my concerns the reply was I suppose you will be complaining to British Airways and that I still had to pay 6 days $192 + tax resort fee. Looking at all the 1-2 scores there seem to be a lot off customer with the same issues if not more and find it hard to believe that there are customer who score 5 which leads me to think are they manipulating trip adviser some way . On a positive note JIMMY GUANA'S restaurant was not bad, staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast and evening menu's not badly priced .

Major hidden fees The hotel was very clean and staff was friendly HOWEVER they had an additional 50$ a day amenities fee that we were not told about until we checked in for the hotel that was supposed to be for the water park, live music and mini golf but you still had to pay to access these amenities on top of the reservation fee…not happy about that hidden fee
