Great staff Great location and very friendly staff. Loved our cabana and veranda. Everything was really good except one bed really needed replacing. My friend and I had to switch up nights with the good and bad bed. Other than that all was perfect. Like I said, the staff members were awesome and helped whenever we needed anything. Kudos to hiring great people there. Can’t beat the location and pool area.

Good thing for tequila... Excellent location on fabulous Playa Norte. Hotel fronts onto the public beach. Beautiful hotel. I stayed in another hotel just up the street from Maria del Mar on a previous trip to Isla Mujeres and admired the location of the hotel and the charming appearance - colonial spanish. The hotel is very pretty and the rooms are decent , unpretentious and the terraces outside the rooms are comfortable and relaxing. Unfortunately, I got chewed so bad by bed bugs the first night I was there that I had to sleep outside in a hammock where I got chewed by mosquitos amongst other things. I didn't report it at the time because the attitude of the staff that were working when I was there left me to believe I would be wasting my breath. And they had to know about this already - it wasn't one or 2 bites. I also waited to place the review, but I saw an ad for this hotel pop up in my feed, so here's the review. Good thing for tequila.

Basic rooms phenomenal location! 5 stars, with correct expectations. Exactly as advertised. Clean, basic rooms with traditional local flair, directly ON one of the World’s Top 10 Beaches. Beautifully landscaped and perfect location for an Isla vacation- especially if you do not want your rent a golf cart for the entire time! Hotel also operates Easy Rentals so just grab one when you want/need to. Daniel is the most frequent employee we encounter at the desk and he is professional and friendly. Housekeeping staff are wonderful. I am Hyatt Globalist and enjoy nice amenities. We come to Isla for the beach and Cabanas Maria Del Mar meets every need for us!

Clean, great staff and great location We have been to Isla Mujeres several times and normally stay at Ixchel Beach or Privileges. This hotel is in a great location, was clean, polite receptionist, beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked great. Our group had three rooms for three nights and had no complaints. It has a small pool and rooms have all your basic needs. It is a great value for the cost… and we would recommend staying here. It doesn’t have some of the fancier amenities the other hotels I mention, but it also is half the cost.

Paid extra for included price. No wifi in room; all channels are in Spanish We booked a trip including hotel and flight for a family of 3. We verified before we left that the hotel is for 3 people including our daughter. When we arrived in hotel we were told that it is for two people only. We were told we had to call the booking agency and it lasted two hours as every time when we talking about how many people included they just hung up…..very frustrated and exhausted we paid the extra $18*7 usd for our daughter to stay at this place…..the people were friendly but no wifi in the room and tv channels all in Spanish so when it is raining nothing can be done…..would not come back to this place again for sure.
