Ixchel Beach Hotel

Beautiful beach front hotel Our first time in Isla and we stayed with friends at Ixchel. LOVED IT!!!! Beautiful beach, close to everything, and awesome staff! Beds and pillows in our room were very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again. The setting is very relaxing.

Perfect Romantic Get Away! Our penthouse (506) was the best. Two stories with a hot tub and 240 degree views was breathtaking. Everyone in staff was friendly and helpful. We were pampered in the beach with personal service from Chepo and he was quick, efficient, learned our drinks day one and we never had to ask again. He was funny and just a great guy. I’ve been to Cancun, Playa, Cabo, Mazatlan but no more searching, Isla will be our destination going forward and we’ll stay at Ixchel. Gracias Ixchel!!!

Loved Ixchel and Isla! The location is great, a 10 minute walk from the ferry-grab a cab though because it's hot!. We stayed in a standard room in bldg 2 which had 2 very comfortable queen beds. View of the ocean. 5 cup coffee maker w/ daily replenishment of coffee packs with dry cream /sugar/splenda, safe, iron and board. Small fridge as well. Room was spacious with the sink/mirror outside the bathroom and private shower(large, walk in) toilet area. Lots of closet and drawer space. Small raised table/stools in front of the window. 2 pools and beach right outside. Restaurant Kalak with beach service (can charge to room) and to left and right 2 additional beach bar/restaurants that would also serve you and keep a tab (Leidys and Chimbos). No prob if you wanted to bring your own snacks, drinks. There is a big storage area walking out to beach with tubes, sand toys, masks etc to borrow if you wish. Plenty of beach loungers, umbrellas. Card for beach towels-avail at the beach or lobby. 24 hr desk coverage, felt very safe and secure. The ocean I crystal clear, calm and just beautiful. All the staff were welcoming, helpful and happy! The location is right at the end of Hildago st with all the shops, bars, restaurants- which were all excellent. We ate at Oceans(awesome drinks, burger), Argentina steak (ribeye!), Asia Caribe (sushi), Roland's (pizza, caesar salad), El Patio-nightly band and Stingray(karaoke). There is a super Aki(grocery) at the distal end. We rented a golf cart for 24 hrs from Ciros(about a block away) and zipped around the island, went to Kin Ha (snorkeling, swimming, band, great food and drinks). My daughter and I had a great time and will return next year!

Great relaxing vacation location We loved this hotel. Had a 2 bed suite for 4. The beach, pool, bar and staff were all amazing. It was convenient to walk to nearby restaurants and shops. I go to Mexico often and this was one of the friendliest and accommodating experiences I’ve had!

Wonderful, clean, place, with the fabulous Marta! We just returned last night and I'm already dreaming of going again. We were so lucky with the weather. Everything is super clean and well maintained. We had booked a one bedroom, ocean view room. When we arrived, we were told the hotel was full and there was only a garden view room available. As far as I understood the explanation, there is no guarantee for an ocean view, and they have had a few problems with this before with other guests also misunderstanding. All they need to do is make sure in the reservation that they state that there is the possibility of a garden view. The room itself was great -- very large, with a nice patio. But we were disappointed with the view. Marta at the Front Desk worked her magic and after the first night, we were moved into a room with an ocean view and a terrific balcony. It really made a big difference to us. Thank you, Marta! The housekeepers do a wonderful job. Every morning the pool is vacuumed, and the beach is swept. The service around the beach is great. The only downside is the near constant stream of vendors coming through, but I think because the beaches are public, there isn't much the hotel can do about it. The Kalak restaurant was fine. Food pretty good, service very good. It was nice to eat there sometimes to get away from the local restaurants who constantly badger one to come in and eat. We could also charge food to the room at Kalak. Most of the local restaurants are cash only. We would definitely come back to the Ixchel Beach Hotel again.
