But like the typical Marriott. Old Old and old decor. Not like typical Marriotts. Staff was great. It's fine, just not as expected as I was expecting it to be like all the other Marriots I stayed at. Gardens aren't kept as well. Pool was murky Sauna was closed. No continental breakfast First room I was given, I walked into a room that wasn't cleaned yet. I wonder if this lower quality is when they took over other hotel lines?

Overpriced I tried to reserve a room for a weekend night on June 26. For no reason, the price had more than doubled to over $330. There is no event in Ithaca this weekend. Because of Covid, the hotel is still not serving breakfast or providing full service. Previously we had stayed there for less than $150 a night. The very pleasant woman who answered the phone could not explain the rate increase and sympathized with me when I called back to cancel. We were able to book in another hotel at a reasonable competitive rate.

Service excellence from night shift Front Desk: helped my newbie college kid get safely to hotel Late post from Dec 2019: My freshman college student, new to the area, arrived at Ithaca airport late in the evening expecting to stay at the airport overnight to catch a 6am flight home. Since local rideshares sometimes stop early and start later in the morning, and local taxis have poor reviews--my kid reasoned it was the best option to avoid missing the early flight. Unfortunately, Ithaca airport does not operate 24/7 like major airports, so my student was asked to leave around midnight! Unable to find a rideshare and already checked out of the dorm with no place to stay-- I got a panicked call. I found Courtyard Marriott Ithaca Airport to be the closest hotel, so I called for assistance to get my kid safely from the airport to the hotel. Front Desk attendant "Daniel" answered almost immediately and handled everything starting with arranging the most reliable taxi to pickup my shivering kid waiting outside the closing airport. He took our information to book a room, and also arranged for the taxi to return at 5am to catch the morning flight. When my kid arrived to the hotel, Daniel courteously finished check-in so my frazzled kid could go straight to the room. Sure--this is routine hotel service. But-- for a panicked parent and newbie freshman calling for assistance in the middle of a winter night in Ithaca, it's a blessing someone took pride in their position to get the job done. Thanks again, Daniel.

Beware of the thermostat I feel like the courtyard brand is going downhill a little bit. Case in point: the courtyard in Ithaca by the airport. Not only is the thermostat one of these new models that don't have a function for keeping the fan on continuously, the hotel does not even have portable fans for the rooms period there are also no microwaves. Business travelers need both of these things. in a hotel where the windows don't open, how is there no continuous air circulation? It's the most claustrophobic experience. Fans are like $20 at walmart. Every Hotel should have fans for people who want them. The people who work here are nice though, just as they are all over upstate new york.

Clean and well run In the age of COVID, the Courtyard is exactly what you want: clean, well run with quick and efficient front desk service at both check in and check out, clear signage about masks and elevator usage, extra hand sanitizer in the lobby and in the elevator, etc... The location is a bit out of the way, but it's quiet with ample parking so those are a plus. And if you like big fluffy pillow top mattresses, you'll love the Beautyrest bed that we had in our room. Unfortunately, I need a firm mattress so I didn't get much sleep at all and probably won't return-- which is a bummer because in every other respect this was a great hotel.
