Wonderful stay at charming hotel with excellent staff “I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the experience truly enjoyable. The room was very comfortable, providing a cozy and relaxing atmosphere throughout my stay. The hotel itself has a charming, old-world feel that adds a special touch of nostalgia and elegance. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for excellent service and a comfortable, charming stay.”

Dated hotel with rodents in the suites Save yourself the stress and disappointment and don’t have a wedding here. The staff treated terribly and it felt like they went out of their way to make things more difficult for the bride and groom. DON’T stay in the barn suite if you don’t like large rodents ripping through food packaging and destroying the space with crumbs and food everywhere. No one should be begging their wedding coordinator to call an exterminator so they can use the room we paid for and then being lied to about when we found all the glue traps placed by maintenance. An hour before cocktail hour outside they began mowing the lawn where we were attempting to take pictures. There room keys deactivate if they’re anywhere near a phone and they lock the lobby after 10 so I was locked out several times. Our fireplace king room also had several spiders and beetles and thankfully the fire place because the thin comforters do nothing. There’s no free breakfast after spending over $400 a night on a very basic room. The hotel manager is nonexistent and never apologized for our horrible experience and the front desk staff gives you dirty looks and complain openly about you while smoking outside areas where you’re staying. La Tourelle may have been a nice hotel 20 years ago but it’s the same quality and comfort as highway motel.

Dated and disappointing Incredibly disappointing. Room was dated. Cold. Mattress was lumpy with a huge dip in the middle. Noise from adjoining room was as if they were in our room. They gave us the thinnest comforter even though it’s fall in Ithaca. For over $400 I expect more. Only upside was kind and helpful staff.

Great staff, terrible facility. While all the staff that I interacted with were great (reason for 2 rather than 1 rating), the physical property was extremely disappointing. We booked just a double room (rather than a suite) since we weren’t planning to stay in our room that much. Unfortunately, due to it raining every day, we spent more time at the hotel than planned. It seems like the room had not been used in a very long time. I’ve never seen this much cobwebs in a hotel room. Not to mention more spiders and small cockroaches than I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. The whole facility is in dire need of a renovation, even the plumbing. The furniture was not sturdy and the chair upholstery was coming apart. We were shown a second double room when we checked in which was an updated room (to be ADA compliant) but other than the bathroom being updated, the rest of the room didn’t look updated at all. Plus there was no closet area…just a few wall hooks by the door. Our room was not worth the price and was comparable more to a motel room. The lack of indoor seating areas/lounges in the hotel is also surprising since this has a spa. The exterior could also use an overhaul. This facility doesn’t even live up to how nice regular hotels are, let alone spa hotels. Spa hotels I’ve stated in previously are Mohonk Mountain House (also an older building but had multiple restaurants and indoor lounge areas), Miraval in Arizona and The Lodge at Woodloch. The so called continental breakfast was also disappointing. (It was comparable to what I’ve had at some motels.) Not only was it not free ($7/person), it was just a bunch of cold items (bagels, muffins, some apples/oranges, juice and couple cereals). There is a restaurant on property but it’s only open on Fridays (just evening I believe) through Sunday afternoon. This meant we had to leave the hotel for every meal or get meals delivered since we stayed Sunday into the week. The spa service was really nice and the tranquility rooms within the spa (so only available when the spa is open) was relaxing. So while I may come back for a spa treatment, I don’t think I’ll ever stay at this facility again. Did hear some talk about how there are plans for a renovation and also possibly going under new management.

Fair My husband and I were there for an overnight stay. We had stayed there about one and a half years ago and it was exceptional. It was less so this time. The room was lovely, clean, comfortable and quiet. I read some reviews saying the balcony was small but it is plenty of space for2 people to sit outside! Dinner at the Bistro was not worth the time. Food seemed like something you'd get at fast food place but the server was great. She was very busy but so friendly and pleasant! I would go into Ithaca next time for dinner and not waste time or money at the Bistro. Staffing seemed a problem. We waited over 10 minutes before someone showed up at the desk to check us out during busy check out period. The desk was deserted more than it was staffed. We would have liked to have a glass of wine at the lobby bar In the evening but no one was ever around to serve it. Landscaping needs some help... Overgrown... A little TLC will go a long way.
