Hampton Inn Jacksonville South/I-95 at JTB

Disappointment on recent stay Starting with the positive, great hot water and pressure for the shower. However, the negative outweighed the positive. Upon check-in, the evening receptionist was not at the front counter. Once found, he was playing a game on his phone while checking us in. The issues continued once in the room. The toilet wouldn't flush, a section of the baseboard fell off and the front door slammed loudly if not held to slow down. As we were on the first floor, we could hear every footstep those above us made until they finally got into bed after 11 pm.

Excellent Hotel This is an excellent hotel with excellent staff. Check in was a breeze, the room was very clean and well maintained, the breakfast was very good and the overall maintenance of the hotel was excellent. I would stay at this Hampton Inn again. I highly recommend

Don't stay here The place is under construction. It sounded like a jackhammer was coming through my wall. There is a small banner on the site, but I didn't expect this level of disturbance. When I tried talked to the front desk, she did not care and just dismissed me. Very poor customer service.

Just An Okay Stay We were given Room 302. I give this Hotel 4 Stars and not 3 because of the Employee Staff, especially Bella at the Front Desk, and the Lady at Breakfast were really outstanding in their work performance and very friendly. Bella at check out really was interested in how our stay was and took care of our complaints regarding our Room's issues, and the Breakfast Lady did a great job in the Food Presentation and cleanliness of the food stations, and she kept everything well stocked with Fresh Food, nothing was rotten or outdated. The Hotel was Clean in all of the Common areas of the Lobby and Complimentary Amenities, and the Hotel has a modern feel to it's decoration and presentation. However our Room 302, was with really Dirty Floors throughout the Room, it could have used a good Vacuuming in the Room and Sweeping in the Bathroom and Hallway area, there was Hair and Dirt and Dust everywhere on the Floors throughout the Room. The Couch in the Room was so nasty with Stains and Dirty and with Garbage underneath the Cushions, and the Couch truly looks like it needs to be put in the Trash. Our Beds were not comfortable the Springs on the Mattress Squeak whenever you move on it and seem worn out. Also, the Counters were not wiped down in our room, there was sticky stuff on the counter top and desk that we had to wipe down ourselves with our own Lysol Wipes that we had. Our room has a Mini Microwave and Mini Refrigerator and complimentary Coffee Pot and full length Mirror. There is No private Safe in the Room. The Bathroom has a sliding door that does not lock, but the Bathroom did have enough good counter space for Toiletries. The Hotel has an Outdoor Swimming Pool, and Small Guest Laundry, and Complimentary Business Center and Fitness Center, and a Board Room and Meeting Room. The Hotel is near a lot of really good Restaurants for places to Eat in the Neighborhood.

On the fence! Rooms were clean for the most part. The floor had something sticky on it, and may or may have been mopped. Breakfast foods included blueberry waffles. The gravy for biscuts tasted bland. The only down side is that I was charged for food that we did not purchase.
