Double check your credit card charges The hotel room was large. Quiet location. Breakfast was Ok. Front desk needs training. We booked online. Paid in advance. They had difficulties with the procedures for dealing with this on check-in and we were charged twice. When I returned home, I saw that they billed us a second time for the stay on the card that was just to be used for any incidentals. Called the hotel to have the charge reversed. Took some time because they are unfamiliar with reservations through booking.com. At first they thought they had already talked with me, but then it became obvious that we were not the only customers dealing with being double charged. Finally thought I had it straightened out. Was told double charge would be credited back by hotel. Ok. Mistakes happen especially with rookies. They’ll fix it. No biggie. Two weeks later charge is still not reversed. Contacted Hilton directly. On three way call with hotel and Hilton customer service. Hotel staff tried to tell me to take it up with third party booking. Same thing they tried during first go around. Told them no. Their mistake that they need to fix. Then they said that yes the hotel mistakenly double billed and should have fixed it but didn’t get to it because of the recent hurricane. I reminded them their original promise to rectify this was made a week before the hurricane even made landfalll in Florida. Now that I have corporate looking over their shoulder, I believe the issue will be resolved. Not impressed with the finger pointing on the hotel’s end. Not what I expect from a Hilton property. I know this is a bit lengthy, but consider it a heads up to anybody who does an online booking with this property. We have used Booking extensively for reservations for years now, domestic and international, and never had an issue until now.

Laura at the front desk just got here today and wanted to shout out to Laura at the front desk. She was super helpful in finding out that my room would be ready early, getting me a time, and being very cheerful and friendly about it instead of just telling me 4 o’clock. The room is attractive in the balcony, inviting, overlooking a little courtyard area next to the pool.

Bed bugs! Room 421 We stayed here before on the first floor and had a room in better shape and no issues. This visit we were in room 421 and found a bed bug on the last night of our 5 day 4 night stay. Also the room had a foul odor and what looked like water damage. We just dealt with the latter as the hotel looked to be in worse shape from our last visit anyway. I got up to use the restroom at about midnight and as soon as I turned the light on I saw a bug moving across the bathroom floor. I woke my husband up to take a look at it. I did a quick google search and it looked exactly like the images. I then went downstairs to show the night attendant Chandler and he told me he would make a note in the system. The next morning I went to check out and they also told me there was a note in the system. I asked for something in writing and they refused. We asked about bed bug policy they refused and were pretty rude about it. I asked what we should do if this problem followed us home and they stated it was inexpensive to treat and we could do it ourselves.

Not great! Not what I’ve come to expect from Hampton Inn. First I’d like to say the staff were all great - friendly and accommodating. Our room lacked in cleanliness. The nonsmoking policy was not enforced as there were smokers around every bend it seemed, some right outside the entry doors, poolside, and on the balconies. The boardwalk to the beach was a nice walk however there are several steps on each end. We were hoping to access the beach from our hotel but had to drive up the road to a more easily accessible beach which was not ideal. The fitness room was not utilized because it was generally full of unruly children playing on the equipment. We ended up checking out a day early which we’ve never done while vacationing but the host was gracious and did not charge us for the unused night.

Comfortable stay The room was very comfortable and clean. We ended up with a balcony room up on the third floor, overlooking the trees (you can't see the beach behind the maritime forest but it's still a nice view there). I really enjoyed birdwatching. Staff were very nice and accommodating. By the way, the chicken strips at the bar are more like a snack, the hotdog meal would probably be the best value (I think it was only $6). Bikes are available for rent at the hotel (and helmets of needed, we brought our own), that was a fun activity.
