Service with a smile The hotel was nice for an older hotel. The food was excellent and reasonable. The workers were super. Especially the Desk clerk. We requested to move after our first night and she was great to accommodate our family. I ask for recommendations of things to see and she did not hesitate to assist me. I would recommend this hotel for the cost location and service.

Excellent coordination with Brandi We planned a Celebration of Life for my spouse. Brandi,our coordinator was outstanding. She was patient, kind and understanding. I could not have planned it without her. She thought of every little thing that needed to be done. The setting of the Celebration was beautiful. I would highly recommend Double Tree Hotel and BRANDI.

Friendly staff, excellent service, and convenient location What separates one hotel from another is the staff that works there. This staff takes ownership in their hotel and they know there are other places to stay in town. They make their patrons feel valued for choosing their location over other options and they take real ownership in their work. Even the housekeeping and maintenance staff spoke with me in passing and asked if everything was OK and if there was anything they could do for me. I don't even consider other locations when traveling through Johnson City now.

Unfair cancellation policy Last month we had to cancel last minute due to an unexpected death where we had to travel out of state. I thought I was doing the right thing by calling to cancel the day of our stay. I was advised by the hotel that since we booked with our Hilton points that they could not refund the points. I totally understand that. However, 2 days later they charged our credit card $550 for one night! The online rate that we would have paid was $175 had we not used points. I called the hotel to request and explanation and was told the manager would call me back, which they did not. As a long time Hilton Honors member, I am so disappointed.

Not worth the Money Expensive clean room and overall, very nice hotel. Bathtub would not drain had to wait 30 minutes to fix. Not told breakfast buffet was $30 until check arrived. Management did comp breakfast for bathtub problem.
