Not Going To Find What You Are Looking For Here Not going to find the hotel you are looking for here!We stayed here eight years ago and enjoyed it.This time we hated it.I decided to call and see if the restaurants were open before we arrived. The hotel told me all restaurants were open. When we got there the only open restaurant was the pool bar and they had poor food at best. The room was very run down. The wind would blow under the door and make a horrible whistling noise. The pillows were rotten and my husband purchased a new pillow for his stay nearby. They would run out of towels often at the pool. The resort had no hospitality! One day they took up a sun lounger with our cell phones on it and threw our stuff in the sand.We came back and found our beach chairs gone and stuff in the sand. This is the level of hospitality we found throughout our stay at the Sheraton. The funny thing is the price we were charged did not match the level of the quality at the hotel at all. They are charging nearly the price of a luxury hotel but giving you Days inn quality. That statement really sums up the experience here.I hope this review causes other travelers to book something better and not get ripped off here. You could do much better even at a condo.

For the price this is a good hotel but make sure you book a good room I've been to Maui 20+ times but this was the first time I've stayed at the Sheraton. The location is famous as it is in front of Black Rock. It is an old hotel and priced lower than other resorts on the island. But here it is all about location. We originally booked a garden view room but upon checking in it was very depressing. The mattress was not good so we asked the front desk if we could change rooms. Sailam at the front desk was great and upgraded us to an ocean view room which was much better. Great views from our room. For an older hotel, they have done a good job keeping it updated. Pools were crowded but we booked cabanas eeverything day which I would highly recommend.

Family of 5 stay We booked the Sheraton through Costco and had a hiccup when we arrived because they didn’t honor the types of rooms we requested. Apparently, you are only guaranteed the number of beds you request if you book directly through the hotel not through Costco so take note! Anyway they wanted to charge us extra for the roll away beds for both rooms. We had to speak to a manager and eventually it was resolved. James was very apologetic and found us a great solution. Thank you James! The rest of our stay was outstanding! We love the Sheraton property because it’s a large property and even though all of Kaanapali beach was crowded, the resort never felt that way. The valet, room service, restaurants all gave the best customer service and we were very happy with our experience! The only thing I would say is if you like the new, clean resort feel, you may feel the Sheraton is not up to your standards. The rooms are dated, they need new rugs, new showers, and so on. But we rarely spent time in there so we can look past all of that because the location in my book is 5 stars! Thank you Sheraton staff for a great stay!

NOT Luxury. NOT Relaxing. Can they even call themselves a “resort”? Don’t waste your money here. If you want to spend thousands of dollars to reach your vacation only to be once again woken up by lawnmowers and leaf blowers at 9AM… then this is the resort for you!!! I am appalled that they have lawn services working from 8AM -10AM at a RESORT… what do they think people are here to do?? The resort overall is seedy and run down. It is NOT luxury despite what they may say. This place is your run of the mill typical American family resort. Nothing special about it and in fact it’s rather repulsive and not an enjoyable place to be. There is no area for adults, so you’re constantly around screaming kids and music and noise, and the rooms are surprisingly loud as well (especially in the morning when they do lawn work). The staff is pleasant however, and the food is OK. The water is nice and so is the beach, but again, it’s FILLED with typical Americans and really is not a relaxing beach resort AT ALL.

Great views but beware of ants Hawaii 2021, a month-long revenge travel with my small family of 3. My wife and I both are working from “home” with an impending work mandate to return to the office later this year. Our final hurrah. Check-In: Our trip brings us to Sheraton Maui for a ten-night stay. At the time of this review, we are on day 3. We reserved a standard room and opted to use Marriott Suite Night Award(SNA) to see if we could land a 1-bedroom upgrade. We received notice 5 days before arrival that there was no availability for the upgrade, but they will check every day before we arrive. Understanding that Hawaii is currently in high tourist season we sort of expected that the upgrade wouldn’t be granted. We decided to see if we could upgrade to a larger room instead of a suite. Working remotely with a child under 2 years old and six hours difference (Eastern Time) can get pretty hectic. We could use every inch of space for separation. We had an option to use the SNA for a larger room but we noticed that we are already assigned to an upgraded room “Oceanfront, deluxe larger room”. We were very appreciative of the upgrade and decided not to apply the SNA to request for the same exact room, we just kept the request for the 1BR. Upon check in at arrival, we were told by staff that we were being issued the standard garden view smaller room. We were told that the room shown via the dashboard was not guaranteed despite it being shown as assigned. We were also told that many platinum members were also not provided any upgrade just like us due to the availability and the busy season. It was quite disappointing. This was the longest timespan (10days) where we will be remaining in one hotel. We understand it being super busy, however I’m upset with the transparency of the hotel and the system. We were led to believe that we were assigned to a superior room. We could have used the SNA to request the room if we would had known and had a higher chance to secure the room. The staff tried to check the system again and was able to get us a better view. Not exactly what we were expecting but there was nothing we can do. View: This was the first time we had stayed at the Sheraton Maui. We had stayed at all three Westin properties on the Ka’anapali side in prior trips. The view here is definitely the best. The black rock backdrop is majestic. Room: The room itself was a bit dated. The furniture provides ample space for clothing and storage for our long stay. However, the wood has warped/expanded in many areas. I’m unable to open the bottom drawer without applying heavy pressure. The door to the cabinet also opens every time I try to open the drawers. I concur with all the reviews regarding the carpet. It is stained in many areas and the color is not attractive. Pool: We were able to secure seating easily, although it was directly under the sun with no shade. It was enough for us as we just needed something to hold our belongings. The connected pool itself was great and my son enjoyed it very much. Dining: We have daily breakfast at the coral reef restaurant which is temporarily located to the Maui Ball Room. The servers are excellent and tentative. The food selection was decent; however, I wouldn’t pay the retail price if we didn’t have the platinum comp. We also had food at the cliff dive bar which was pricey but enjoyable. Ants: On our second day we found that a bag containing our food products has been covered with ants. We immediately placed the bag outside in the balcony. Unfortunately, we had to eventually throw everything out. We also found a few ants on the bed and in the garbage can. We went into deep clean mode for a few hours. We suspect that the country apple lotion my wife was using attracted the ants to the bed. We discontinued using scented products, ensure all trash is discarded outside, and stopped bringing take out or keep open products inside. These were extra protocols we were not expecting to have in place, this added extra layer of difficulty for us. We have another week remaining and will update with additional details if relevant. If you have any questions regarding the property, we are happy to find out for you.
