What happened to Hilton? Lousy Hotel with lousy service. This is the most poorly run Hilton we have ever stayed at. The Hotel is old and beat up, staff had terrible problem solving skills and were too busy chit-chatting to help. It was unbelievable. We waited for more than an hour for a sheetless pack and play - house keeping wasn't available and maintenance was not answering their beeper. We had to change rooms because the ceiling was leaking and the room carpeting was soaking wet. The room we moved to was less than clean. We will think twice before staying at another Hilton.

Only okay if you don't want to shower Highlight of the overnight stay was the restaurant- food was delicious! Rest of the stay - awful! Started with the check-in. We were given a room key, headed down to the room and door was ajar and someone's stuff was still in the room. Went back to the the front desk, no apologies or customer service of any kind. Gave us a new room key and sent us on our way. Room looked clean, smelled clean. When time to shower, realized that the drain was clogged, water wasn't draining - filled to ankle deep in a hot minute ___ Abandoned showers, decided on a cold drink. Vending machine on our floor was empty. Headed to lobby - snack shop in lobby had 1 can of Monster and 2 cans of something else. No soda, water, nothing. Front desk said "there are the vending machines on the even number floors". All were sold out. I hold Hiltons to a higher standard than what we had!

Recommend avoiding this property Location for an airport hotel was good, however the hotel is very tired, run down and full of broken things in the rooms, hallways and exterior. The air conditioning is a real problem for them and was an ongoing complaint amongst multiple guests during our conference stay. It simply didn’t blow cold air in the two rooms I occupied. Biggest problem, had chosen a specific room when checking in and they gave it away to someone else prior to my arrival, promised another better room for day two but they gave that specific room away too. No apology, nothing but a confrontational verbal “take it or leave it”. Complimentary Diamond breakfast was disappointing as it ran out of multiple items each day and wasn’t restocked often enough. The view from the room overlooked all the trash and junk left on the lobby roof, such as cinder blocks, bottles and snow shovels?!?! Attempted to speak with manager but he refused to talk with me during stay, wouldn’t return my email or phone calls afterwards. Didn’t want anything aside from a few minutes of his time but this clearly indicates they don’t care much for customer service. Would not recommend this property, especially as a Hilton Diamond member… they even went so far as to post no points for my stay and didn’t return the 3 phone calls left afterwards to correct the missing points. Sad level of customer service from management and staff at this property.

Superb one night stay! I picked the Hilton because of the brand name and it had a 24 hour shuttle. From the drivers to the front desk and Starbucks, everyone was friendly and professional. Just what you would expect! The room was immaculate, comfortable, and quiet. The bed linens were quality. I liked the pump bottles on the wall of the shower/tub, and particularly the lotion in the bathroom. It smelled so good, kudos! The lighted make up mirror was a nice touch to have. Starbucks was a great amenity and the coffee was good. One very minor oversight, the cigarette disposal outside the hotel was full and overflowing. I smoke so I noticed it. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Tired Property I stayed at the Hilton KC Airport for a convention June 26-29. Overall, it was a very old and tired property in need of a major renovation. The pros: -The location very close to the airport and the very convenient and efficient free shuttle to & from the airport that runs 24/7 every 15 minutes. -The hotel was generally very clean. -The beds, pillows, towels and bathroom were fine. Shower water pressure a bit weak, but OK. -Friendly staff at check-in and help with luggage storage while waiting for room to be ready. The cons: -The air conditioning in my 11th floor room did not work the entire first day/night of my stay, By the middle of the night it was very uncomfortable. Maintenance did come and look at the AC and left a fan, which helped slightly. It magically started working the morning of the 2nd night. I heard many similar complaints from other convention-goers. It seems like this was a known problem. If I had know about this, I might have tried staying at the Hampton Inn across the street. -The indifferent woman at the front desk when I inquired about whether the AC would be fixed and asked for another room showed little concern. The hotel was fully booked for the convention, so that was not possible. She never apologized for the problem. -When I checked out and asked if they might be able to do something to compensate for the poor night's sleep the first night due to the broken AC, the desk clerk took my name and number and promised a call back from a manager. After 3 days of not hearing a word from the hotel, I called and asked to speak to a manager. I got her voicemail and have not heard anthying in the past two days. I'm not holding my breath for a call-back! -The general state of repair of the hotel. Elevator buttons did not light, the smoke detector outside my room, fell off the ceiling mid-trip (see pic), the public areas, while clean, were also very tired looking. -The breakfast was not up to Hilton standards. The selection was limited and not very appetizing (I did enjoy the French toast, however), and things ran out (regular cream cheese, bacon the 2nd morning, Splenda packets, etc.) and were not replaced. Maybe they did not plan well for the convention crowd? Service was fine enough for breakfast. (Instead, go across the parking lot to the BP gas station cafe, the Air World Deli, run by kind folks from Uzbekistan-try the delicious meat pies called Somsa!! The fried chicken there looked very yummy, too!) Hilton really needs to review this hotel and either invest in a major refit, or jettison this hotel from it's portfolio (or make it a DoubleTree-seems to be what they do when a Hilton property gets old and worn out). As a Hilton Gold member, I expect better from a full-service Hilton.
