CLOSED This location is closed and not operating. I was by there a couple of weeks ago and it was a ghost town. I searched and was unable to find any information as to what was going on and Wyndham Hotels, which operates the Howard Johnson brand, couldn't give me any information either.

Highly do not recommend due to poor service, if you can get anyone at hotel. Made reservations date latter October; upon need to change reservations no way to contact this hotel and Wyndham owners of Howard Johnson cannot either, as they say not part of Wyndham. I've even gone through other resource to contact this hotel. For several years we had used this place and liked. Something has changed.

DONT STAY HERE came here when it was still a Ramada because the one in Nebraska was great so I had the same hopes for this one......to say I was disappointed would be an understatement! First off one reason I booked was because they had a pool. when we got there its pump was broke so the water wasn't clean but they let people swim in it anyways. we gave it a shot because I was really looking forward to the pool and is was so full of chemicals it was unbearable so we got out and was like its okay things happen, not their fault. Our room seemed clean and decent so no problems there, however when we made coffee the next morning it tasted really off so I took the machine apart a bit to find mold all over the inside of the pot! It looked like the insides have never been cleaned or maintained. I told the front desk of our complaints and they did nothing but say sorry and hang up. thank god we were only staying one night because we were going to worlds of fun then back home. After the coffee incident we went down to have breakfast. Which was almost inedible...to give some insight I love biscuits and gravy and I wasn't expecting high end food. the biscuits were hard and dried out, and the gravy was chunky, thick and chalky. between the coffee and breakfast we were hungry and felt sick. we ended up going to starbucks on the way to the park for breakfast. sadly we felt sickly all day and it nearly ruined our stay at worlds of fun PLEASE don't stay here it is a health hazard and a waste of time and money!

Hotel stay at Howard Johnson in Kansas City Missouri One of the worst hotels that I have stayed at in a long time. I thought the booking with a hotel that has a association with Wyndham Hotel which turned out to be favorable however this hotel was dirty and smelled and the accommodations were terrible. After booking the first night I moved out of the hotel the next day and stayed in Kansas Missouri for the remainder of the week at a different Hotel.

Very disappointing This is the second year in a row that we stayed at this hotel. Last year it was great, the hotel was nice, the rooms were nice, there was a bar downstairs. We booked it again this year assuming the same thing. When we were checking in, we asked what time the bar closed and were told that it was gone. Okay, not the end of the world. We were also almost immediately told that the hotel was closing down in the next couple months. Once we finally got checked in, our rooms were decent enough. We had five rooms and they all smelled like mildew unless the AC was running on full blast. The tub ran constantly in one of the rooms we reserved, and didn't stop the entire time that we were there. The first night, my sister-in-law came to hang out in our room and hit her shin on something as she walked past our bed. We pulled the bed skirt up to find that part of the metal bed frame was sticking out from the side of the bed at least 6 inches. We left it uncovered after that so nobody else would hit it, but, lo and behold, after they cleaned our room the second day, they covered it back up. My SIL hit it AGAIN the next day, hard enough that I heard her leg crack from the bathroom. It bruised immediately and took over an hour to get it to stop bleeding. I asked Shirlene at the front desk if maintenance could fix it, so while we were at dinner they did. She also took pictures of it to show to her manager the next day. It really made me mad that the housekeepers obviously saw it and covered it back up. My sister currently has a claim filed with HJ corporate. The only working ice machine in the entire 7 floor hotel was on the 4th floor, which luckily happened to be ours. In the main hallway off the lobby, the ceiling was cracked and leaking in two places, with water all over the floor and a single "Wet Floor" sign. No buckets or trashcans or anything to catch the water. I work at a hospital and I KNOW that's just a fall and lawsuit waiting to happen. From our window on the 4th floor, you could see a room on the 7th floor that had the window busted out of it with the curtains blowing in the wind. It's really disappointing, because it seems that within the last year they've just given up trying to maintain it and make a good impression. Like many other reviewers, the only good thing I could really say was that Shirlene at the front desk was amazing. Apparently we won't stay there again since they're closing, though.
