Food, artwork and comfort Cape Fox is a year round gem of an accommodation in Ketchikan Alaska. In making my way from the Cape Fox lobby to my guest room on the 3rd floor, I found myself thankful to Alaska’s people for such beautiful contributions in artwork. I also enjoyed the view!

Mixed thoughts It was clean, nice , comfortable, food in restaurants was good etc. It is a bit out of the way and up the hill which is great for the views (we didnt mind that at all), BUT the tram wasn't working when we were there, so we walked the stairs which unfortunately was lined with people smoking crack that we literally had to walk through breathing it in to get by, multiple times. The shower was always cold , have to leave it running for 10-15 minutes. They said you have to do that when it's cold , but it wasn't cold, at all. Little disappointing , but the staff was exceptional polite and shuttle driver (Ken) was awesome.

WARNING . . HOTEL POORLY MANAGED, ATTITUDE OF HOTEL IS SURLY. READ MORE IN REVIEW. HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE! Terrible! Three of the drapes were torn and sagging so you could not have privacy at night. I have pictures to prove how bad! The bed was so high, I had to climb onto an arm of the leather chair at then crawl onto the bed. The coffee pot would not work so when I called the night desk clerk, he said if I wanted a cup of coffee from the reception area I would have to pay for it! Then he came up to find out it would ONLY work if a full pot was made . .not just one cup. He attitude was surly and rude! There was no grab bar in the shower. There was not bath mat outsde the tub shower The tile on the bottom of the shower had no non-skid mat. And, they charged me $390 for one night with NO MEALS INCLUDED. WARNING . . my accommodations were terrible. I have travelled over 80 countries . . and what I found here was unacceptable!!

Beautiful maintained grounds Direct uphill climb (now all stairs) from Creek Street, nice views & sculptured totem poles out front. Worth the walk up to explore. Nice helpful staff, and I wasn't an actual guest. Restaurant on site.
