You get what you pay for We stayed one night in a deluxe king room on the ground floor looking over the lake. The room was compact but clean. The hotel is a little dated. Carpets and furnishings are bland and well used. Nothing special but ok for one night. Staff were polite and helpful.

Waaaaay too pricey -- I expected far more for the $$$$ I've never paid this much EVER in my world tours, but figured - it's one night, and it looks really luxurious. I travelled alone. I very quickly felt that it was NOT luxurious. I'm not saying it's horrible, but most people pay nearly $400/night! I didn't even pay that at the Hyatt in Hawaii or the waterfront hotels in Toronto. Details: Entry is weirdly in the garage. Actually IN the garage, and you have to walk through the garage to get out to the street. Although the room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the harbour, the furniture pieces were those typical cheap dated pieces. The TV was large, but poor picture quality. The bedding was very nice, but mattress wrecked my back. The most shocking part to me was the hallway was unvacuumed all day, with trays of food outside of people's doors all day, from when I arrived at noon, to when I went to bed. I'm not one to complain usually, but I paid an ARMFUL to stay here !!! I have to add as well that the dining room meals are very expensive! Each dinner entre was around the $35 mark. After spending this much for the room, I couldn't even bring myself to eat in my own dining room. Parking was $25. Lastly... (and I promise, i'll end this by saying something nice)... the room service menu is exactly the dinner menu. I also asked the bartender for one of his menus.... I wish I could have found anything "normal" on there to have for lunch, like a sandwich. Shouldn't every lunch menu have a sandwich? There are also no vending machines with snacks on the premises. I requested an 8 oz glass of wine to take up to my room and it was $18 (plus tip=$20!!!) This is robbery. Sorry, but this isn't Switzerland people!!! So, I promised something nice... Staff was very friendly and the eggs benedict for breakfast was stunning.

Meh. Great location, otherwise just fair Excellent location on the water in the centre of town. Staff friendly and eager, if fairly green. Food pretty good (breakfast). Rooms tired, housekeeping seems disorganized though that may be partially related to COVID protocols. Soundproofing on the guest room floors is horrific: we could hear every word uttered in the adjacent rooms and every step and sound in the corridors. If location is important, this is your place.

Post COVID travel This is our first trip since being fully vaccinated. Travel has changed things that is understandable and hopefully in the not too distant future we can get back to some sense of Pre-pandemic days. When we visit Kingston we generally stay in the same hotel. The location is good and overall the hotel is good. General comment for what appears to have changed post COVID travel, the rates do appear to be higher. We paid point plus cash but overall expect to pay more. There is a caveat to this; guests will likely be supportive of this in the short term, however, hopefully rates for all hotels (all chains) will reassess their rates within the next year. Also, from our experience this visit, don’t expect housekeeping. We were out of our room pretty much full day and noticed when we returned at 6 pm there were no clean towels. We called and were advised we should have said if we needed housekeeping. Apparently it is now on a “request only basis”. We had not been advised of this on check in. Which now takes me back to my original comment, so now guests are paying more, no housekeeping and the onus is on guests to be on top of that - for two nights fine. But hotels have to appreciate, most guests have short memories and stay loyal to a chain. If new rules are in play we need to know what they are and after a period it has to be a balanced approach. I am not going to pay top rate for no housekeeping. My experience in the US has been to help environmentally and being told upfront, save your towels and housekeeping and we credit you x or free drinks. At least you know where you stand and feel you are helping along the way. Overall our stay was fine, breakfast and service was great. Just get your process together as to expectations for guests in this new, and hopefully vert temporary environment. Good job, I know it’s a struggle with staffing etc. but we as guests are struggling too to figure this all out. Happy to meet you half way.
