Holiday Inn Express and Suites Kittanning, an IHG Hotel

With some work this would be a nice hotel. This is rebranded hotel and sometimes those are good surprises. Room was fine and had a newer Heat/AC unit which was quiet. The pool though needs to be shut down until the ceiling is repaired, and pool drained and walls cleaned. It was scuzzy with names and initials scratched into the scum. Employees congregate by the main entrance and smoke. View from room was a deep ravine full of trash. The hotel is in a great location, near a great restaurant, but ownership needs to get serious about the investment and work with the locals to get the trash cleaned up.

A very nice hotel great little hotel, Has a nice pool, exercise room and business center with a printer to use. Wi-Fi is provided. (Best to use a VPN). Walmart nearby, Kings restaurant, and fast food restaurants nearby. Busy Beaver Hardware store is next to hotel, An ALDI grocery store is across the parking lot. My room was clean and big enough for one person for one night. Front desk staff are great. and morning breakfast is prepared by a very attentive and thoughtful employee. Yes I would stay here again. It used to be a Holiday Inn Express.

A MUST STAY First of all I want to thank Katie the front desk girl who has a car just like mine you know who you are! She has the best personality ever and was very helpful to my sister and myself One must stop and smell the coffee and have some eggs and bacon along with cereal yogurt and other good breakfast items. The woman in charge of the kitchen was very friendly and on top of her game! Great cook. The rooms were comfortable roomy enough for a one-night stay or several days even a week. Walking distance to Walmart, Dollar Tree, McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken as well as many other stores. Thank you Kittanning Plaza hotel for a wonderful stay. I will be returning in the near future. Also, if one has time to take a dip in their pool. Very refreshing.

Top notch customer care The ladies at the desk Betty and Elda took such great care of all of my reservations. We had a wedding in the area and this hotel was a terrific host. All of our guests we pleased. The rooms were clean and the location has restaurants and shopping nearby.

Worst hotel experience ever We booked our room here at the Holiday Inn Express in Kittanning for a friend’s wedding for April. Due to Covid-19 the wedding was moved to July 11, 2020. I have been in contact with this hotel five times in the last two weeks, and not once was a check in time mentioned. Earlier this week the hotel called to see if we were still coming with the pandemic going on. After saying yes, we asked if we could check in around one to get ready there and the shuttle for the wedding left at 3:10. They said yes. We got here today a little before one and were told we could not check in until three. Even though we had blocked rooms off and the shuttle left at 3:10. The front desk attendant was extremely rude in how he handled this. We would have been alright just leaving to go somewhere else or waiting a little, but his attitude was unprofessional and frustrating, hence why I’m writing the review. We called another hotel nearby and asked if they had a room available now and they said yes and we could check in now. We returned to the front desk and asked if we could cancel our reservation, they said no because they were completely booked and would charge us. We then checked and saw that they were not sold out and did in fact have rooms still available. So we told them we would be going to the other hotel and canceling our reservation. And immediately after that, we magically had a room available for us to go to now. After giving us our room key, we were told this was our mistake because we did not book a room Friday and Saturday night. We only needed the room for one night, and were told a check in around one would be fine. So we have been lied to repeatedly and treated not very hospitable by the front desk attendant. Also no one is wearing masks here or practicing social distancing. Even though IHG’s main website says they’re taking the pandemic seriously. I would not have written this review if we were treated with some decency and a little respect. But the behavior of the front desk attendant was the worst experience I have ever dealt with at a hotel.
