Great stay!! I took a mother-daughter trip with my 25-year-old daughter and this was our first visit to La Jolla. We chose the grand colonial for the excellent reviews, location and price. The hotel exceeded all expectations! Really comfortable stay.

Great hotel... Needs major upgrades/cleaning The staff alone made our stay here worthwhile. It's centrally located in a very walkable area and near the sea lions. They offer free valet (a big deal in this area) and they have a great restaurant/bar right in the lobby. Our room however was gross. There was lint falling from the ceiling vent in our bathroom all over the countertop, floor and near the shower. Bedding was stained/dirty and the carpet was truly disgusting. I wouldn't dare walk on it barefoot. My toddler's socks were BLACK from walking on the carpet the night we arrived.

Family Vacation Far surpassed our expectations and would return again and again. Stayed at the hotel about 8 years ago prior to their renovations and was hesitant to return due to the facility being a little tired. Because of the location and price, we went ahead and booked again and we were so glad we did! Great experience, wonderful staff and perfect location!!
