La Valencia is an absolute Jewel, I was greeted immediately upon arrival and offered help with my bags as well as valet service when I checked in a little early I was told that my room would be ready shortly and advised of multiple choices for making myself comfortable while I waited. I chose to grab a drink at the lounge. As soon as I was seated with drink in hand, my room was available. The valet arrived moments later with my bags and addressed me by name. The views were spectacular and the room was large and comfortable with a balcony and the bath had a gigantic bathtub, (of course I had to try it out) even the robe provided blew my mind, it was incredibly soft and cozy. I enjoyed a sunset dinner on the patio, the service was outstanding. Enjoyed the pool and poolside bar and cafe. Every staff member remembered me by name and the professionalism was something I haven’t encountered much, (if at all) in many years. Cudos to La Valencia and all your staff, it is quite obvious that you all take a great deal of pride in what you do. You have ruined me for any other accommodations in the San Diego area. Thank you for such an enjoyable visit.

Still a classic! It has always been a Wonderful classic hotel. Great staff, nicely upgraded rooms. Terrific location. We were married there in 2003 and it still feels special. it’s a large property with direct access to the cove. Great valet options, will visit again

Ridiculously Overpriced 1920’s hotel with a 1920’s HVAC system. The tower is permeated by a damp, musty smell from the A/C. The property is ridiculously overpriced.

A trip to paradise The hotel, the staff and the location are spectacular. If you are traveling with a dog , it was trulu special.
