TERRIBLE, AWFUL HOTEL. DON'T STAY HERE STAYED FEBRUARY 2023. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Rooms have stench of cigarette- and weed smoke, not clean, and not safe. People smoking weed, drinking alcohol out in open, talking very loud and blasting music. I didn't feel safe here, and my room smelled like it hadnt been cleaned from prior quest. Way too much negative commotion outside of hotel and in elevator. I stayed in room for safety. Furniture very old. ITS A ZERO RATING FOR ME. I will NEVER again stay at Heritage Inn La Mesa and would NEVER recommend to anyone. I left after one night. I think this hotel charges guests for electric. And no internet in rooms. Only in pool area.

Convenient location but needs TLC Looked for a place near where I would be meeting friends and chose this. Had a little bit of everything. The hotel is immediately off an exit of Hwy 8 going East. Do not blink or you will pass it. Signage is hidden behind lots of greenery. Going West it is immediately at the off ramp and hard to miss. The architecture has a Southern flair, with outdoor corridors. The reception area is unappealing (the plastic shield did not help) and not welcoming. Luckily, I was met by Michael. He was friendly and professional. The other clerk checked me in and took a long time despite having my paperwork on the desk. My room on the second floor spacious. The bed was comfortable. It was strange that the only lamp in the room was on the desk and not near the bed. Several of the electrical outlets did not work. The bathroom sink needs some TLC. The shower was large, and the water flow was warm and steady. Although near the freeway, the room was very quiet. The pool area was nice, but the hot tub was not available. Housekeeping did not service my room after the first night and Michael offered to exchange fresh linen if I wanted. After the second night they did a very nice job of servicing the room. The location was very convenient for fast food, El Torito and the downtown of La Mesa. Parking was always available despite the hotel appearing to be near capacity. Carol was cordial at checkout.

Never again I needed To be near family for a few days and this was close. Reminds me of the budget motels my family stayed in during vacations in the 50s and 60s. Dated, needed New carpets and furniture...all in all a shabby place. Smelled funky. Location near a freeway and several busy streets meant traffic noise all night. Mini fridge not working.. No in room coffee. Due to covid no coffee or breakfast as advertised. When my niece and brother heard where i was staying they were concerned. I wash i had read the reviews before booking. And besar of the extremly dangerous off ramp at the entrante. Mánager Flores, dont bother leaving your canned message...you will never exceed my expectations. I wont stay here again.

BEWARE! You get exactly what you pay for: Nothing! Bad and dangerous neighborhood! Convenient and reasonable near Grossmont Hospital for my procedure. When the front office heard where I had booked they were horrified!

Cockroaches and bed bugs The moment I walked in my room after checking in, I saw a roach scatter across the desk. I immediately went back to the front desk and reported it. They gave me a different room that was supposedly "cleaner" than the other one. It was initially checked and didn't see any roaches. After we loaded all of our suitcases in the room and badly needing a shower after swimming at the beach, we saw a roach in the mini fridge. We were too tired and dirty to try and do something about it again since we figured the entire building was infested. We took precautions to get large garbage bags for our clothes and we removed all of our food out to the car. We didn't dare put anything in the fridge. On the third night, two more roaches were running on the desk that we successfully killed. I complained to management upon check out and I was given a 25% discount. It wasn't until a couple of days later that I realized the red bumps on my arms and face are bed bug bites. Although the price was good and the maid service was good, I will never stay at his hotel again. There were also shady people who stayed there.
