Not anylonger at the level! Rooms are getting old, as most of the infrastructure, including some security issues (rotten emergency staircase that can't be accessed, electric installation that has exposed surfaced, slippy alleys, ...). Direction seems to be lost and staff, despite very friendly, is not as helpful as most of the older reviews are mentioning. Our luggage were left in the lobby when bringing us to the room, telephone is not working in room, free wifi is limited to 300kbps, just enough for emails and WhatsApp and our WiFi account was not activated at check-in. There are three different animation teams in the hotel, with different timings and it is far from clear from the information that we received during the check-in who is doing what, when and accessible to guests. The hotel animation team barely speaks other languages than Spanish, Italian and English, and they are not welcoming and involving guests. They seems to be more interested on their smart phones and on the single guests. On the other hand, the animation team (Claire, Sabri and Oscar) from FRAM, a French tour operator, is awesome and welcoming, regardless of the language. "Show time" is happening in a theater with the necessity to have earplugs, as the sound is FAR too high and very bad. Food is very average, very international, like the one that one would get in Sweden, Spain, USA, Italy or France. No food that can really make you understand/feel that you are in Dominican Republican, except on Friday, but no specific signage to announce the type of food that will be served for dinner. "A la carte" restaurants are difficult to book and only the Japanese one is worth, even not real Japanese, but more the vision that Americans have of the Japanese food. Nexus Tour operator (our local tour operator) is also completely missing, leading to an additional level of questioning with regards to the "experience" that we are supposed to have in this hotel. Nexus sells this hotel has part of their lower case package as they directly own other hotels in the area. Very good point (one of the very few) is that there are a lot of free animals on site, making it an active part of the natural reserve that is around the hotel. After two years of pandemic, with an hotel that is half filled, we were really expecting another level of attention and of experience for the price that we paid. Many guests were also complaining, but this doesn't seems to change anything.

I will never be returning to this resort. Where do I even begin.. 30% of the amenities advertised online were either in rubble or being turned to rubble. The resort closed the day after our departure for renovations, however they could not even wait until then to begin. The pool was right next to 10 jackhammers going from 6am-8pm every day. It was so loud you couldn't even have a conversation. The staff acted as though they were annoyed by you even existing. They mostly avoided you or ignored you until you forced yourself into their attention. Getting a drink at an empty bar would take you 15 minutes just to be acknowledged. The buffet was disgusting, half way through our trip they began putting out leftovers from the previous day and sometimes there wasn't even water available for you to drink at the buffet. after two days at the resort, they began shutting down parts of the buffet so you were limited then again to what was offered. There was zero entertainment, after two days they just decided "no more shows" and set up a laptop repeating a YouTube playlist that kept cutting out, static noises and buffering. The theatre was one of the aforementioned buildings in rubble, so the shows were in lawn chairs in the lobby.. The hotel staff also lied to us at one point regarding an excursion, telling us it was cancelled and not letting us get on the bus, but allowing others to get on saying "they will be back, its cancelled." It was not cancelled, he overbooked it and lied saying "too windy" when it was the only day there was no wind. He also did not want to give us our money back. We had to fight and argue just to get refunded. On another excursion we booked through the hotel, we got up at 6:00am for the bus at 7:00. The bus never came to get us. With credit card charges and receipt in hand we confronted them and they denied us every booking, refusing to reimburse us and saying that it wasn't their problem and that we were lying. This is a horribly managed resort and it is extremely saddening given the fact that it is gorgeous. Lots of greenery and plants, tons of beautiful birds, fish and an awe inspiring beach.

Wonderful vacation! Beautiful resort. Personel were all very friendly. Food was delicious. Due to fire renovations are needed but it did not affect our stay in any way. Entry to beach is difficult due to rocks but we had water shoes.
