In love of bayahibe The Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus Hotel is a beautiful gem, perfect for families. The surroundings are stunning and offer numerous activities tailored for children. The Star Camp program stands out due to the dedication and warmth of the instructors, who make sure the kids feel cared for and entertained. My daughters loved it. Additionally, the oceanfront location is simply breathtaking, making it a place truly worth visiting. In summary, it's an ideal destination for unforgettable family vacations.

Great Resort in Bayahibe What a terrific resort with a top staff. I highly recommend for a family vacation. I started every morning seeing to Edgard at the Star Cafe. What a gentleman and the Star Cafe is terrific! All of the food options are great. Everyone goes out of their way to help you out and make sure your stay is excellent. Highly recommend!

Best views until food poisoning kicked in We are here currently and as much as I wanted to love the place, it became apparent after the first meal that they don’t take food safety seriously. The foods are kept at dangerous temperatures (not hot enough or cold enough). This is the case at several of the buffet-style restaurants. We were first to show up to an a la carte restaurant after it opened and the hot appetizer food was already cold. Sure enough, one of us appears to have food poisoning now. I discussed the food temperature guidelines (6-60C is dangerous as it allows bacterial growth) with an employee and he recalled a visit to the US where he witnessed a food inspector measuring temperatures and how crazy it was to him. I spent a lot of money to poison my family.

Never coming back. We went to this resort in 2021- assumed service was bad because of covid. Returned in 2024- turns out this resort doesn't believe in providing any high class service, or any serviceat all. We paid for the Star Prestige package- all you get is a separate area on the beach, some spa discounts, etc. Nonsense for $65 per person/night, it doesn't offer any special room treatments, no additional amenities, we have to fight for beach towels- there's always shortage and delays, need to wake up at 6-7 am to get a decent cabana. Not impressed at all. No snacks in the room- 0. All you get is some old coffee machine that doesn't even make a decent coffee. Seems that the resort is very stingy, they are perfectly fine with us paying extra and give bare minimum in return. The Star Prestige Lounge- is a joke. It's small. AC is barely working. The selection of the snacks is limited, and honestly do not look too fresh. The check in was another misery, waited in line for around 1 hour, even though I did mention that we have communicated with the resort about purchasing Star Prestige and had to be checked in at a different location- quickly and painlessly. No one welcomed with a glass of champagne , not even a glass of water. Third day here, and honestly cannot wait to leave. This resort is cheap and stingy, staff is rude, always with attitude, especially management. Never coming back. The beach is beautiful thanks to mother nature, otherwise everything is below average- food, service, rooms, room amenities, restaurants. I feel that all I have been doing so far is running around and begging for at least the bare minimum accommodations. Ridiculous.

Great Resort in the Bayahibe Area. This is our 8th time staying at a Iberostar resort and we continue to enjoy our stays at these resorts. We are scuba divers and our dive shop of choice is Dressel Divers that has an affiliation with the resort hence the numerous stays. My wife and I loved the resort grounds for all of the flowers and wildlife we could see on our daily walks. The resort is long and narrow in area so a great deal of walking is required to get from the lobby area to the beach - 1200+ steps. However the resort has numerous golf carts to drive you around the resort if you need a bit of help getting around. The resort has set up a special area on the beach for guests with handicaps. A board walk and decked area allow these guests to be on the beach like all of the other guests. We dined in all of the resturants and our favorite was the El Colonial gourmet resturant. Iberostar has changed the reservation policy at the resort and reservations are not required at any of the resturants except for the La Geisha (Japanese). Our favorite spot to relax in the afternoon was at the Lighthouse (El Faro) bar, excellent beverages mixed here and the view from the deck chairs was exceptional. Watching all of the boats racing back to the marina after completing the days excursions was interesting - sometimes 30 to 40 boats could be easily seen passing in front of you. While we were there the majority of the guests were from Argentina and Europe and spoke fluent spanish. We met only a handful of guests from North America that spoke english. Some constructive feedback to the resort management - the A/C in our room could hardly keep up with the heat of the day and sleeping would have been uncomfortable if not for the ceiling fan over the bed. The toilet in our room needs the flush valve replaced. We addresed both issues with the front desk but saw little change in the room.
