Great location! Great location - close to some stores and shops and a short drive to downtown. We were upgraded to an ocean view room upon arrival and had a great view of the ocean! A nice little beach is steps away and you can't rent towels, chairs etc at the front desk!

Great stay! Our stay at the Laguna Beach lodge was great! The rooms were equipped with everything we needed, and we were able to take advantage of the amazing location by using the Montage public access beach directly across from the hotel. We also took the free trolley, which picked us up right outside the hotel, to go into downtown laguna beach and spend the day enjoying all the city has to offer!

Disappointing stay , very poor value for money We were travelling California and Arizona for a month and this hotel by far was the most disappointing We booked based on the decent reviews it had received Our first impressions were scruffy , unkempt outdoor areas and generally in need of a facelift We reasoned that it’s at the beach and probably should lower our standards but for over $300 plus a $20 resort fee ( which is scandalous) it wasn’t good enough Our room had a balcony which was dirty with shabby furniture not as depicted on the web site - it looks modern and clean The room was light and airy but dirty , the floor was a disgrace and we didn’t walk on it barefoot The bathroom also was in need of a clean which we did ourselves! There were flimsy white voile curtains at the window which gave no cover to the 2 massive security lights on the next building which shone in our room all night - we barely slept Facilities were scarce - 2 bath towels only , no ice machine, no hanging facilities ie wardrobe or hangers, no iron , no coffee at front desk The staff were not friendly, accommodating or welcoming, when I asked for ice I was directed to CVS or the supermarket next door , there was no pleasant chatter with us or any other guests I saw in reception There are better places in Laguna , we have stayed at many and I would choose others in the future I don’t like leaving negativity reviews but also don’t like been ripped off paying boutique prices for a run down motel

It’s got issues Needs some TLC and serious construction work. The room was literally falling apart, from the rotten ceiling, to the broken door, to the shower drain. Some day this will be a nice property, but that day is not today.

Not as expected Disappointed. I had high hopes for this place but this is still just a Travel Lodge with a big price tag - don’t let the photos fool you. What this place has going for it is location - right across the street from Montage’s beautiful and walkable ocean front trails and beach. And in a complex with good restaurants and a grocery store. We checked in here for 1 night over Labor Day Weekend (Sunday) as the hotel we were staying at for the rest of the week was booked. I honestly could not imagine staying here for an extended stay. We paid for a kitchenette. There was nothing in it but a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and coffee cups. No plates, bowls, cutlery, etc but you can request it. It made a nice size SMEG fridge in it so that is a plus if you are staying more than a few nights. The room was awkwardly laid out and void of furniture. The closet was replaced to put in the kitchenette so you had to hang your clothes in the middle of the room. The sofa faced out into open space, no area rug, coffee table, etc to anchor it. It wasn’t “homey” at all. Mattress was good - I think it was a foam mattress. Pillows were hard and they didn’t offer anything but foam - we called to ask. Lastly, with the exception of the Housekeeping Manager or Attendant who was a ray of sunshine - we seemed to be an inconvenience to everyone else. We arrived at 2pm and was told our room wouldn’t be ready until 4pm - fine, that is the check in time but check out is at 11am and wanted to spend the day at the beach and I was told I had to move my car. There was an enormous parking lot and they were not at full occupancy. I think an exception could have been made here but the response came quickly without thought. Oh well, glad I only booked one night and then was on my merry way!
