First time in a Disney resort The resort is in a great location. I was just there for one night. I am a local who lives nearby. My friend, who is a DVC member from out of state, generously gave me her points because she could not come to the area this time. I chose to stay at the Polynesian resort. I asked for an early check-in and I got there at 2 o’clock and had to wait till about 2:45. That was OK. Check in is usually at 4. The service there is impeccable. Everyone is smiling and friendly, and wants you to have a good experience. The main building is beautiful. There are several restaurants there and a couple of gift shops. I stayed in the Pago Pago building. For anyone who has mobility issues, there is a lot of walking at this resort. Things are spread out. At night time, it’s easy to get lost. The pool and hot tub were full of people, so I did not attempt to use it. I did eat at the Kona Café and it was good. I also visited Disney Springs. The bus will take you there and it runs quite often. The monorail also comes by, but I did not ride that. The bellhops were impressive. They were very polite and eager to accommodate. What people said about the walls is probably true. My stay was quiet, but I did hear a little bit of noise when I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. My room had two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a tub. The room was large and so was the balcony patio. There was a queen bed, and a sleeper pull out. There was also a twin bed pull out. So the room would accommodate 5 . I did ask for a higher floor and they gave me the second floor. This particular building has three floors. if you want to see the fireworks which happen each night, you will need to request a room where you can see them. I did not know to do this or I probably would’ve. Everything considered, I enjoyed my story.

Sleepless Nights We ended our six-night stay at The Polynesian early; after three days, we were done. We had very early mornings and late nights of listening to the footsteps of the people above us. Also, the walls in those buildings are thin so that you can hear your neighbors' conversations. The main pool looked beautiful but full of people, so we didn't even attempt to go. We did have a room change after day two, but unfortunately, the new room had the same noise issues. Also, getting a room change was challenging and took a lot of time out of our park day. If you decide to stay here, request a room on the upper floor and ask for one without a connecting door. It is frustrating to be kept awake by the noise and pay that room price.

Nice grounds, but very noisy rooms If you stay here, get a top floor. The noise from the people above us was really loud and unfortunately they were up every night walking around (you could hear every footstep) from 12-2am for the six nights we were there. Not ideal, but kids slept through it so I guess that was fine. Hotel manager David was a piece of work. Condescending and mean. Had to have two interactions with him_‍__‍__‍_. Also, there was no greeting when we got there which I thought was weird. But I noticed other people mentioned that so maybe they don’t do it anymore? Otherwise the property was well kept and the food and drinks were better than people say-recommend the sushi! The fireworks are awesome. Transportation is super easy with little kids. Pool was great and there are some really wonderful and kind people who work there that try and make your stay extra special. I’d probably stay here again, but would never stay on a lower floor

Don't Waste Your Money. Horrible Service. Where do I begin! I was really looking forward to staying at this resort - it was our first time ever visiting Disney World and heard such great reviews and liked the location. I booked for 3 adults and 2 children ages 5 and 10 months. Due to terrible weather, our flight was delayed by 7 hours so by the time we finally make it to the resort it is around 9 pm. At first I was impressed by the bell hop that greeted us and took our luggage - he told us head straight to the bell hop desk before checking in and tell them that we'd like our luggage sent to our room so by the time we receive our room number that it would be ready and we can just go back and tell them. We did this but the girl working at the bell hop was so unhelpful and did not seem to want to even be there and told us no we need to check in first. Ok.. We go to check in and received the most lackluster welcome. Was not even sure who to go to as everyone was just standing behind the desks and did not seem bothered to even greet us. Finally a girl came up and I tell her we finally are checking in as our flight was delayed 7 hours. She did not care - did not even say anything to this comment. Ok, no problem. She gave us our room number and told us we were given an "upgrade" to a water view room although I paid for resort view and specifically requested for a room close to the main building. Our "upgrade" turned out to be THE FARTHEST room from the main building. We had no idea where this was located and she gave incredibly vague directions and said oh it's super easy just walk to the left. I told her this was our first time coming and she said we would find it easily - no we did not. It is pitch black, could not see any signs and she was zero help. She did not even offer us any leis until I asked as she had them on her arm. She did not offer my kids any stickers - some nice cast member walked by and gave some to my daughter. We go back to bell hop and the girl is not even there! We wait 10 minutes for her to return and when we finally find the room no thanks to the check in girl but thanks to the construction crew working as no one else seemed to be bothered to help us, I ask the bell hop where would we get our groceries and he asks for the name and says he would bring it right up. I told him thank you as we needed the case of water to make formula for my hungry baby. 20 minutes pass and he still has not come. I call the bell hop and NO ONE PICKS UP. I call the front desk and they tell me oh yes they are at the desk but I tell them well they are not answering and I need the case of water as I need to feed the baby formula. No sympathy just said I can transfer you. The phone stays ringing for 15 minutes before someone finally answers. Absolutely ridiculous. To top it off, on the day we are leaving I request bell hop to help with our luggage - I call approximately 45 minutes before we need to leave and I was told someone would come in 20 minutes. NO ONE EVER CAME. We ended up having to move our own luggage as we would miss our transportation. This was 100% not worth the incredibly expensive cost. The rooms are tiny, the bathroom was falling apart- the toilet handle broke, the circle part on the tub fell off, you barely had room to move around the tiny room. I would never recommend this resort to anyone. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

Paradise Lost New tower has completely changed the wonderful Polynesian vibe that Walt had created. Prior to the tower you felt like you were in a small piece of a south seas paradise. NOW you feel like your in down town Orlando. What a shame that the new management is allowed to kill the core experience of visiting the parks for the almighty $$$$. No longer worth the extra $.
