Great Visit We stayed at Lure Lodge over Father's Day weekend. We brought our boat and put in at the ramp down the road from the lodge and rented a slip at State Dock. State Dock provides a shuttle to and from State Dock to the lodge. We stayed in one of the motel style rooms. It was clean and had a private balcony where you could watch the boats coming and going from State Dock and Jamestown Marina. The beds were comfortable, and everything worked as it should. The one thing lacking, which you will find in most hotels these days, is a mini fridge, it did have a small coffee maker. We ate 3 meals at the lodge restaurant, 2 breakfasts, and a dinner. The food was very good, and given how far one would have to drive to another restaurant, it was very nice to have it so close. We also ate at State Dock (The Boat Yard Bar and Grill) as well as the Jamestown Marina (The Cumberland Tap). Both places struggled with timely service, especially at State Dock. The pizza at both places was pretty good.

Best Cabins We stayed in the cabin 501 next to the lodge and it was amazing! Very clean and really big! Fully stocked with pretty much everything you might need! The restaurant at the Lodge is delicious and has great staff. Absolutely our favorite place we’ve stayed in Kentucky

Cabins at State dock Such a nice cabin. Wow it was fabulous clean clean clean! Nice job by housekeeping. No bring candles or air fresheners. We use the stove it worked well the refrigerator was super clean. The air conditioner was very efficient and you kept the entire area very cool. It is a fabulous screened porch area to which would be great for children to play or for adults to sit and drink at night or play cards. You can even have a campfire and sit in your screened area and enjoy it. The bed was comfortable too. hats off to anyone to figure out how to use their can opener though _

I’m sorry, but hated the rv park! As we speak, there are three SUVs and three boats parked on our corner lot that is just supposed to be for our small Class C rv. There are no less than 20 kids/parents running around our site, with four or five additional tents within ten feet of our door. They keep stepping on our electric cord causing us to lose power. The pad was very short and there was no way on God’s green earth that our water and electric hookups could reach their sources, so we had to back up completely off the pad to reach. Each site is right up against the other with no personal space in between let alone any tree block of any kind. We had to make the water hook up go under the rv to get it reach. Of course no sewer hookup/no internet/no cable. Please don’t call it a resort.

Lake Cumberland State Resort Park Looking for Covid-19 get away we booked 4 nights in a cabin here. Price was right reasonable. The cabin was as clean as clean can be. Whoever did the windows knew what they were doing. The lake is the whole thing. The largest body of water wholly within Kentucky’s border. Several marinas but reserve a boat at the time of your reservation to be sure. The state boat dock at LCSRP has a limited number of pontoons. The lake is not crowded and the are many branches and coves for calm private enjoyment. There are few trails in the primeval forest of oaks and hickory’s. The pool was not open - Covid restrictions but the lake is there. The restaurant was open and had a limited menu. Friendly staff and great service. A nice getaway 2.5 hours from Louisville.
