Too hot to sleep and no air conditioning. We have always loved the Post, unfortunately, we were there when 35 degrees and were not aware they did not have any air-conditioning. Had we known, we would have postponed our trip. As it was, we paid over $1000 for one nights room and meal, and neither of us were able to sleep a wink all night. One small fan in the room simply does not cut it. I understand it is an old building, but I wish they could have informed us ahead time to allow us to make a decision on whether or not to visit at that time. It was also 35 degrees in the restaurant, but when my husband came down in good looking golf shorts and a golf shirt, he was rudely told he was not allowed to enter the almost empty dining room unless wearing full pants. Young women wearing the tiniest and shortest of shorts, however, were fine. These antiquated rules for what a male or female is allowed to wear need to be altered, particularly considering how norms surrounding gender inclusivity have changed. It makes me sad to write this review as we have always loved the Post. I am not sure whether we will return in the future.

Love the hotel stayed here MANY times but now I must be in a meal inclusive program? FIRST let me say that Andre and George are GREAT hosts and when we are here it truly feels like "home". We always had a bottle of champagne or wine along with a fruit basket to greet us. I have SO many GREAT and FOND memories of this fine venue and of George and Andre personally! This hotel is 5 star and a WONDERFUL experience. BUT I want to have the option to eat at other restaurants. Dont get me wrong the food here is also 5 star. BUT I want to be able to eat WHERE I WANT and NOT pay for something I will NOT use. Is this greed? You tell me. Until they get rid of this stupid meal inclusive rip off I, SADLY, will not be returning. Come on George, please!

Never a Disappointment! Once in awhile we like to treat ourselves to a stay at this boutique hotel. We have so over many years. It’s not inexpensive but if you were given a choice between this hotel and the Chateau Lake Louise, dollar for dollar, the Post is the winner. Definitely pampered and service is perfection - it all shows in the little details. Welcome wine for two; cookies and mini carafes of milk bedside each evening, Covid care packages, and so on. Stayed during Covid and all safety measures plus more are adhered to. A deluxe continental breakfast and 4-course dinner are included and only hotel guests can dine in the dining room. Looking forward to being pampered again soon. The Schwarz family are amazing hosts.

The Post Delivers Your perfect escape to the Rocky Mountains. Upon arrival at The Post Hotel, you’re greeted with staff eager to make your stay unforgettable. The Hotel is bestowed the Relais & Chateaux award which it undoubtably deserves. It has a unique Swiss Alp charm, Log Cabin design and meticulously decorated to give it a warm and welcoming feel. Each room is equipped with a Wood burning Fireplace and after a long day of Skiing or Hiking it’s the perfect spot to snuggle up in front of and spend the night watching the memorizing fire. The room categories offer 1 or 2 bedroom suite configurations, loft suites or your own Log Cabin on the grounds. The 5 Log Cabins vary from 1 Room to 1 Room suites and multi-family two level Cabins. We’ve stayed in almost every room category and each offer their own charm. The restaurant is quaint, relaxing and offers amazing views of the Rocky Mountains. The servers are professional, all dressed in black & white attire and ready to impress you with the delicious food and dining experience. The menu is expansive and gives homage to local ingredients and different game meats. The meal can be served as a single dish or enjoy the 4-5 course tasting menu which rotates daily. For wine lovers, look no further. The wine list has 25,000+ bottles from all over the world. The owners George & Andre have collected wine for over 40+ years so expect to see very rare back vintages not normally seen on traditional wine lists. They are seen daily in the restaurant and happy to stop by your table to share their incredible wine knowledge and check in on your stay. You could easily spend half hour sifting through the endless pages, however Misun and Julien the in-house Sommeliers are happy to recommend bottles of any price point suited to one’s palate. The Hotel Spa is smaller but intimate. Enjoy a massage or treatment and relax in the spa or the swimming facilities afterwards. If you’re looking to get away from people, enjoy the Library with its massive wood burning fireplace to read and catch up on your favorite book. In the Winter months enjoy a hot drink while Ice Skating in front of the restaurant, in the Summer months enjoy the afternoon sunshine with high tea in the courtyard. The Summer / Fall months offer world class hiking in the area and the staff can offer several breathtaking trails for any skill or fitness level. In the Winter the snowfall in this Mountain corridor is massive and Lake Louise Ski resort is just 5 minutes away for world class Skiing. The Post offers shuttle service to drop and pick you up throughout the day which is perfect as parking at the Lake Louise Ski resort can be tricky as it fills up quickly. The Post Hotel offers an intimate, relaxing and refined getaway for those that are seeking a Mountain adventure and will discover the Hotel’s unique setting and charm. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Skiing & Hiking, you will fall in love with the Hotel and area quickly.

Always on Top of their Game We have not been back to the Post for about 4 years; we have been visiting since we started dating so looking back, about 20 years. This year, even during this pandemic, their timeless hospitality has not changed. Though some faces have changed, there were still many that we have met over the years that are still there, all offering their still high standard of service. Some people have written that the hotel is somewhat dated; if you are looking for the glitz of the Four Seasons or an Intercontinental, yes it is. If you are looking for classic furnishings and surroundings much like a fine Swiss inn, then you have found your place. The hotel has yearly maintenance during a down time from October to December, and it shows. The bathrooms are still pristine as well as the furniture, the beds hugely comfortable, so much so, I have my best sleeps there. This year, there seemed to be more trains at the time we stayed for some reason, and yes, they can be loud. We stayed on the CP Rail side and I am very sensitive to noise but I had no trouble sleeping through the night. Right now, you purchase your stay as a package including breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is a generous continental breakfast - overall excellent and one day included homemade jelly doughnuts! (Extras were provided on our request :o)). However we did find it rather "carby" and a protein such as eggs or cheese and ham would have been very welcome. Boxed lunches with sandwiches or wraps can be ordered (extra cost) and the one I ordered was prepared very well, with the quality synonymous of the Post Hotel. If you are wondering about the quality of the evening meal, it is still unchanged. You still get the wonderful meals the Post Hotel dining room is known for, and George, Andre and Michael still do their rounds, greeting each guest and easily making small talk. In general, not much has changed at the Post Hotel except for the COVID-19 precautions everyone is taking. We felt very safe and encourage old friends of the Post to return and stay. I'll be honest - we were hesitant to book at first. However, their kindness, hospitality and service is still the same. Go, you will be glad you did as we were.
