So upset. Waking up this morning at the Crowne Plaza Lake Placid on my 24th wedding anniversary to 3 withdrawl banking prompts, some in the middle of night, and room charges on my credit card that wasn't explained at check in, they did not say they would charge ahead for my dog's 4 night stay in 3 separate charges! Most hotels bill each day for parking, dog's fees, resort fees each night you stay. But they bill ahead for our dog's 4 nights here and we've stayed only our first night. We were fully aware of this as we researched for my dogs $20 u.s. a night U.S. charge in their site . Three separate bank prompts for pieces of our dog charges coming out overnight marked as "Crowne Plaza Res" making me very anxious & concerned that someone charged our room from their in- house REStaurant which is common practice at some hotels. Instead of understanding from an out of country Canadian clients point of view I'm met with derision by a non-plussed reservations clerk who wouldn't let me talk & a manager who was outright rude. Absolutely abhorent, no understanding especially since there is so much fraud & identity theft these days. Have never been talked to so rudely. Don't want to stay here, don't want my anniversary here, don't want my dog here for the next three nights I've paid in advance.

“Crowne” on the hill with character in itself and over look stunning scenery. After did a little research for accommodation in Lake Placid where I had no idea about. I have decided to book with Crowne Plaza. A hotel is located on the hill with a stunning view of a village and mirror lake. Also very close to the Olympic museum. A benefit of being on the hill above the village was peaceful and quiet. It was only a short walk about few minutes to visit a village. Parking is complementary from a hotel. Public parking in Lake Placid was metre parking and we needed to pay so parking at the hotel for free was one of a benefit to stay at Crowne. There were so many parking spots more than enough to accomodate all guests. First impression when walked into the hotel was reception staff who meet and greet with a smile. Staff were friendly and willing to help. Checking in was quick and easy. We got all info we needed and some more info about what was going on in the hotel and what hotel services were offering. My partner told me that this hotel probably built in an Olympic time. It was a bit dated. We booked double bed Lake View. The room was big and the view from the balcony was amazing. The room was clean. The down side was the wall was thin and we could hear a guest from the next room was swearing. The air con was old and did not work very well. There was time we were so hot and sudden cold on and off all night. The beds were comfy but the pillows were not comfortable to sleep on. Bathroom was large and clean, water pleasure from shower was okay and hotel provided shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and a hair dryer. There was only 1 elevator on a hotel side we stayed. There was an indoor pool and hot tub. We did not get to use it because we could not add more activity into our 3 days trip. Also my partner forgot his swimmer so we decided to pass. Buffet breakfast was nice and varieties. There was a chef who cooked fresh eggs on demand, all cold and hot foods, continental, yoghurt, fruits, tea, coffees and juices. I was surprised with a price per head USD16 which was so cheap compared to where I came from. We happened to sit at the bar on the first day we arrived. There were many varieties of drinks also cocktails. I asked a bartender to mixed the cocktail the way prefer and it was good. I was quite enjoy it. I highly recommend Crowne Plaza Lake Placid if you ever think to visit. How can it go wrong with an IHG hotel.

Night at Lake Placid, NY We came early, but the rooms were ready. We got upgraded rooms without asking for them. At the reception, Anna welcomed us with a smile and was very helpful. The rooms were excellent with a clear view of the Mirror Lake. The brunch buffet next morning was excellent. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Not pet firendly They advertise as pet friendly hotel yet you cannot leave dog in room even if the dog is crated. Very unrealistic to be on vacation and take your dog everywhere you go. Dont advertise as dog friendly because you are not. Stated its for dogs safety to not be left in room, If he is in crate they are safe. Try differnet hotel

Fantastic stay Amazing! Great room, very comfortable! Very clean! Beautiful view, close to everything! Very sweet front staff. Everything was perfect except for the service at breakfast. Not very friendly. Waitress didn’t smile and seemed miserable.
