Very nice adult family getaway This seems to be one of the best resorts in the area. We stayed at the main lodge which seemed to be the nicest of the three locations that are part of the resort. Family of four including two adult boys. The weather was not great but we had a nice time. Spent much of our time golfing. The accommodations have the feel of a ski lodge. It was nice to have free use of pedal boats, kayaks and paddle boards. Plenty of pedal boats available but harder to get kayaks and paddle boards. They were not available when we tried to get them. My husband used the one person kayak. The resort was clean and people very friendly. I would highly recommend. The lakefront looked nice for younger families who want to be right on the water with the pool over looking the lake. The Lakehouse itself (I think that’s the name) that had the indoor pool looked to be the least desirable. The pool table in the rec room had sticks with no tips and duplicate pool balls (eg 3-13’s, 2-14’s etc.) but had an even number of solids and stripes. The indoor pool and hot tub seemed fine but not very inviting. Small little downtown with shops and restaurants. Very nice to visit for a long weekend (we stayed Saturday through Wednesday). There was coffee and tea served in lobby each morning and warm cookies in the afternoon with lemonade which was a very nice touch.

Terrific! Great location! I stayed in the main building. Rooms clean and nicely appointed. Staff very welcoming and super friendly!! Loved the champagne upon check in! Complementary coffee/tea in morning and afternoon cookies and lemonade and infused water were such a pleasant touch!! The pools were clean and refreshing. Yoga on Sat with Noelle was awesome! The water toys down at the lake were a hit with the whole family! Had lunch at Dancing Bears and it was really good. Only complaints were : 1) the hallways were warm (no AC) and didn’t smell fresh 2) it’s a bit of a hike to get to Main St level from the main building. An elevator to street level would be welcomed, especially for older folks. Right now you have to go thru Dancing Bears restaurant (a lot of stairs) or up/down the hill …..it’s possible that this is a temporary issue because of the renovation of a stairway at present time. All in all it was a terrific holiday and I’d return in a heartbeat!!

First time and a Great Experience ! The hotel was beautiful. The room was spotless and upscale. The bathroom was clean and up to date. The shower had a nice large bench in it. The products were of good quality. The hotel employees were very nice and helpful. One block to shopping and restaurants! We will definitely be back!

Great location on the water on the main street through town We had a great stay at the High Peaks Resort during the "shoulder season" of mid June. After the marathon left Lake Placid, the town was pretty calm and never felt crowded, including the hotel. Sometimes it felt like there were no other guests there. The room was perfectly comfortable and clean. Everything worked. And unlike what some other people said, the hotel did not feel dated. It is just decorated in "mountain" chic, although I guess some of the lobby couches could be replaced. The view from our room of the courtyard, pool, lake and mountains was great. It was nice to sit out on the balcony and enjoy coffee - there's both in-room Lavazza and free lobby coffee. The lobby also had welcome champagne and afternoon cookies and lemonade. Since Lake Placid can be busy and parking on the street is not free, the ample hotel parking was a great benefit. Only two complaints: the water didn't get very hot in the shower/sink and the garage was used as some sort of old couch/mattress/furniture storage building. The piles of furniture in the garage was a little disconcerting since I sure hope it wasn't on its way into some of the rooms. All in all, I recommend this hotel highly. We would stay there again.

Loved the view Nice resort. We stayed in a lake side room (note 1 flight stairs down, no elevator). Great view. Staff handling complimentary kayaks, paddle boats, etc were great. Powerful AC handled the 90 degree heat wave. Welcome champagne at check in very nice
