Plaza Hotel I was very excited to stay at the Plaza Hotel. I love historic hotels but I was a bit disappointed. I felt like it could have been a little cleaner. The carpet did not appear to have been vacuumed prior to our visit. The light fixture and fan needed dusting. The bathroom mirror was filmy. The linens were clean, as was the bathroom. Those two things are of the most importance so our stay was pleasurable just not excellent. I loved being on the plaza and having a view of it. We didn’t eat there so I can’t post about the dining room. We had breakfast down the street that was excellent and the owners were very friendly. Not sure the name of it but it’s on the same side of the plaza across the street. It says “Breakfast” across the top. If fact we had very good food everywhere we ate. The Castenda is excellent, the Skillet and Charlie’s Spic and Span. I recommend all of them. We loved our visit to Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Not helpful They were unable to accomodate a room early due to housekeeping. They are inflexible & bureaucratic. FYI. I normally buy gifts from hotels, but due to the way they treated us, I did not buy anything nor leave a tip. I normally tip housekeeping.

Historic Plaza Hotel 5 stars all the way!! Beautiful, unique, historic and don’t miss the restaurant/coffeehouse! This magnificent building is worth every second. There so much to see and so much history to take in, you won’t regret one second. Prairie Hill Café is quaint and delicious. They have the most beautiful piano leading back to the 1800’s! Do yourself a favor and stop here on your next trip through New Mexico!

Very pleasant stay in this restored hotel. The people responsible have done an outstanding job of restoring this hotel. Everything is top quality, comfortable--and interesting! There is a small library, but actually the whole hotel is a library with bookshelves in every nook and cranny. The gift shop is lovely and reasonably priced. As of this date, the food services are not yet functioning, but they hope to have them up and running soon. The location is great--right on the plaza. We also found the staff friendly and very helpful.

Average Beds and pillows are great. Disappointed with the mini fridge, it didn't work. If you want to watch TV its 90% infomertials!! Funny, they touched up the bathroom paint and didn't even match the colors.
