Comfortable and Close to Everything This hotel is clean, classy, and has a great.buffet. So close to Fremont Street and local bus routes. The rooms are clean, cool, and comfortable. We wish they had more pamphlets at the front desk, but that's a small deal and we found our own way. You get the best of old Vegas and new staying at Main Street Station.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen I gave this place a 5 star review 10 years ago, it was my favorite casino in Vegas. Now, out of the 12 casinos in downtown Las Vegas, I’d rate this one as my 9th “favorite”…you’d really have to try hard to be any worse than El Cortez, the Golden Gate, or the Downtown Grand. All the things that made this such a great place to stay and play have gone by the wayside, there is NOTHING left to keep people coming back. For instance, they used to pass out scratch tickets worth a minimum of $2 whenever you hit 4 of a kind on video poker…no more. And you used to build comp points based on your amount of play that could be spent for meals and merchandise. You know, like just about EVERY casino does. No more, not unless you’re an upper tier player. Then on weekdays, the table games are closed all day, only opening at night. At a casino. In Las Vegas. And the $5 table is a thing of the past at Main Street Station. Yet the Golden Nugget is the nicest place downtown, and they always have PLENTY of $5 tables. Go figure. And oh, if you want something to eat after 8:00 PM, tough luck…go somewhere else, there’s nothing open here. And there’s no place to get breakfast here any time, except the buffet on the weekends. There’s more things that have changed for the worse in the past few years, this used to be a bustling casino with plenty of loyal patrons but in the past few years it’s become an afterthought. If somebody from Boyd Gaming wants to contact me I’d be THRILLED to go even more in depth about how they’ve ruined this place. Its only purpose now is as an overflow outlet when the California is all booked up.

No pool in May in Vegas. Awesome hotel, nice bedding, hotel has no pool or always something wrong with the pool shared by 2 other hotels nearby. The hotel was beautiful and nice people running it. The only one diner was very good. Prime rib was excellent. Closed up at 8pm. No bar as advertised. The best food and where the supposedly pool were located in the California hotel. The California was closer to the Fremont experience and had an awesome breakfast diner.

Olde Worlde in a modern city We enjoyed our stay at the Main Street Station Hotel, which is close to the Fremont (Street) Experience - a very lively area. The staff were helpful - though when enquiring how to access the free internet, it would have been good to have been told that we would be charged if going over a certain limit. The room was spacious, but the en suite would have been vastly improved had the door been placed so as to include the sink, which was open. We were disappointed to have no coffee making facilities, nor a supply of coffee. There was no welcome bottles of water either. The latter both unusual for hotels these days. We liked having a fridge and we loved the ice machine, which was close to the lifts.

Stay at Main Street Station! Our room rate was great and although this is not a 5 star hotel, it rates 5 trip advisor stars. The staff is efficient, friendly, and did a great job of making us feel welcome. The room was clean and spacious for the three of us. Good amenities and comfortable beds. The casino was not over crowded and there was a good variety of games. If you want to stay in downtown, this is an excellent choice.
