Breakfast Service We came here for a volleyball tournament and this was the hotel we had to stay at. Marjorie who works at the free breakfast is amazing. She is kind caring and helpful. She went over and above what one would expect! She greeted us daily with a smile. She is engaging and interested in what you say and always offers to help with anything you need at the breakfast. I would go back just because of her!

Had to go one last time! When I was 17 years old, I took Greyhound bus from Detroit to Las Vegas. The trip took me three days. I turned eighteen, as we pulled into the terminal, in downtown Las Vegas. Unable to afford the bus fare, a hotel room (at Tropicana), and a weeks worth of tickets, for 9 performances, by The Osmonds, I stayed at the old Holiday Inn, near the old Dunes Hotel (both have been torn down). And so, when I learned that fifty years later, the Tropicana Hotel was also closing, I had to travel to Las Vegas and finally stay there! Of course, once there, everything had changed. I couldn’t figure out where The Osmonds had performed. The cafe, near the casino floor, where all the fans hung out, was gone. The tennis courts where we watched Donny and Jay hit around a few balls was long gone. I tried to sleep in that area, one night. The Osmonds were doing a Meet and Greet, the following day, and I was out film for my camera. I asked the Holiday Inn if I could get a refund, for my final night, and told them why I needed the money. They were more than happy to hand over the $13.75! After being kicked out of the tennis courts, I sat up, all night, on a bus bench. I went back to the Tropicana, the following morning, with my little suitcase. Girls ran towards me and wanted to know where I had been? Mr. Osmond had been told about me. He asked the hotel to find me and comp me a room. My bus back to Detroit was leaving later than evening. So, I purchased the film, went to the Meet and Greet, then headed back to Detroit.

No wonder they are tearing this place down They are about to tear this place down so I guess they feel like they don't have to put in any effort anymore. First, rundown, worn and dirty. Second, check in starts at 3 pm, yet they only had person doing checks for the first 30 minutes and then someone else showed up. The we had 2 people and occasionally the person with membership line will help. Third, these MF advertise room service all over their website, yet could not provide me with room service during my stay instead I was told to go to their store where they charge you 4.99 for a small bag of chips and 3 or 4 dollars for a soda. There was no ice anywhere, I swear from the day I checked in all the other guests and I where part of a scavenger hunt to find a freaking ice machine that had actual ice in it or one that could even produce ice. I did not get my hotel room cleaned the second day that I stayed, none of toiletries where restocked and I had to schlep to the front desk for that and clean towels and empty my freaking trash in the hallway bin. The only reason I gave this place a second star instead of one is that it had the best water pressure I've ever experienced staying at the hotel as evident by the puddle of water that would spray out from the shower head and that I slipped in on my first night there.

Our favourite Vegas casino We didn't stay in the hotel, we only visited the casino, but it was my favourite in Vegas. We played in many different casinos in Vegas but the Tropicana casino was the cleanest and the least smoky. They have $5 blackjack tables and the dealers are friendly and fun. We will definitely go back and maybe stay in the hotel next time. It's pretty far down the strip but you can get there easily on the monorail and it's definitely worth it.
