Historically interesting, but a bit grimy. We really appreciated the history that this place has, but the hotel is unfortunately not well-maintained. Check-in was chaotic—there was a dinner event going when we arrived and it was hard to hear the desk clerk (and she appeared to have zero interest). The hotel itself is interesting from a historical perspective, and the beds are honestly comfortable, but it’s also grimy (not “dated”—actually grimy). In our room, there were dresser drawers that were missing drawer pulls, layers of dust on on the lamps, and random things left behind from prior guests (party plates and a large hair clip, for example). The tv needed an upgrade and there was only one small mirror in the bathroom hung above my height, so plan to bring your own mirror for makeup, etc. For the price, I would not stay here again.

A Disappointment This beautiful inn has quite a history since many Presidents and famous people have stayed here. The restaurant was a huge disappointment. I ordered New York strip steak. Not only was it overcooked, it was also floating on a bed of onions and covered with a brown sauce. A good steak never needs anything except for a knife and a fork. I would advise a different restaurant entirely,

Would you use this shower? Gross... Granted this is a very old historic hotel. I wasn't expecting for it to be all nice and new. For the most part everything here at the hotel was fine. However the Rutherford B Hayes Suite was old and needed some better cleaning for sure. For instance the globes on the chandelier were covered in dust, cutting back on the already dim light that it provided. But that's a small thing... The real gem here was the shower. I'm including photos of the shower and you can judge for yourself if I am being unreasonable by saying something about it. I did ask housekeeping to clean the shower and they advised me that they did their best to clean the shower. They said that all this mold and mildew was baked into the grout and calk. They were unable to remove it and she said that the maintenance man needs to replace the grout and calk. I believe her. I think she did try and clean it, but this has been neglected for so long it won't come off. So therefore... the hotel should not be letting this room out to guests until it is fixed. I feel like it was in insult by whoever at the hotel is responsible for making that decision. This room is unsuitable to be assigned to any guests with a shower that looks like that. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but honestly - Shame on you.

Happy Couple Such a Awesome place. My husband has a disability and can not walk for a long distance and we had booked a room and did not know they did not have a Elevator and they where so gracious to us they gave us a lower room and it was our 39th Anniversary and they gave us a Cracker and Cheese tray and Dessert. Such nice people and the Hotel is full of history. It was a Joy to stay there.

Worth the visit!!! We first had dinner in there and then stayed overnight in the inn. As usual, the food was excellent! The room was part of history as many Presidents over the years stayed here. We also walked the downtown part of Lebanon which is in the same area as the Golden Lamb.
