Crowne Plaza Leeds by IHG

Doesn’t care about loyalty… I’ve stayed at this hotel several times, more recently I’ve noticed a decline in service. It is a shame because the aesthetics of the hotel are really nice. The lobby area and its welcoming scent, comfy chairs and the 1st floor area is excellent. The restaurant and bar area are also really nice and whilst I wouldn’t say it is a spa, it is handy to have a pool and the wet facilities. Yet, every single time for the last three times I’ve stayed as a diamond elite there has been no room upgrade at a time when they are still selling much better rooms online. This is bitterly disappointing, there are other Crowne Plaza’s here in the UK where I’ve had a 100% upgrade hit to some really lovely rooms and as a result I’d go back to them in a heartbeat It seems here it’s 100% likely you will never get an upgrade, an excuse will be made if you ask. They are fully booked but they don’t know why suites and other nicer rooms are still being sold. This time I was given a room on the 6th floor, the same happened last time. The only thing upgraded about them is there’s an old sign on the 6th floor that says Club Floor. The room type in the reservation never changed and to make matters worse I was inconvenienced to wait for it, hoping that just once Crowne Plaza staff would decide to look after their loyal customers and treat them well. By all means if you’re not a diamond (or platinum member) then you’ll be happy enough with this hotel. But the posh bathrooms are not the norm and it seems that unless you pay for a suite then you aren’t ever going to get one. I have a stay booked in November so I’ll report back no doubt another stay without an upgrade. That will be four times in a row.

Decided not to book, poor reservation service, hostile family environment I was going to book three nights for a small family of three (the third is 11 year old boy). I am an IHG Diamond Elite member. I always book with lounge and called, based on tripadvisor reviews, to confirm the our child would have access to the lounge with his mum and dad. I was told absolutely no and that he could sit outside the lounge while his mum and dad was inside the lounge. That is obviously ridiculous, especially when booking rooms with club access. I have stayed at crowne plazas across the world and never had this issue. Leeds crowne plaza obviously run a particularly hostile and unfriendly child environment.

Nice hotel Room was clean and cool, not far to the shopping center. Food was great, we had many options. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Really recommendable. I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, and I am definitely coming again. It worth the value.

Wow what a venue for a wedding _ We have just returned from the most amazing wedding here as we celebrated our daughter marry her beautiful wife_ I have nothing but thanks to the whole team from Yasser & the other reception team who greeted us all on arrival (our side had travelled from Surrey, USA & Sweden to attend the wedding) & were nothing but amazing dealing with endless issues with our key cards not working during the stay, to Kevin & the team on the wedding day itself who did a magnificent job keeping everything running to schedule & giving both the girls the wedding of their dreams! Couldn't have wished for a nicer venue to watch our daughter become Mrs C-S so thank you_
