Four Seasons Papagayo My wife and I stayed here 20 years ago, when the property was new and the Papagayo Peninsula was just being developed. I thought it was the nicest hotel I had ever seen. We just returned for the last few days of our family CR tour. Papagayo Peninsula is now much more developed, with amenities like paved roads. The hotel has been remodeled and expanded substantially. We’ve also seen a few additional properties with years of travel. It’s still the nicest hotel I have ever seen. Staff are amazing, the beaches are perfect, and the experience for our family was excellent. There are many other experiences and places to see in this amazing country, but this property is special.

Almost perfect.. The location of this resort is superb. To have your own peninsula with white sand beaches on both sides with the monkey filled forest dropping right into the ocean is incomparable. It’s also a super easy shot from the Liberia airport. Pros: *Rooms are spacious and relaxing and, mostly, well insulated. *The tours and adventures offered through the hotel are exciting and worth it. Our favorite was renting a private boat for half day where we saw humpback whales up close, swam with turtles, and found secluded caves. *The staff are incredibly kind and responsive. *And all the restaurants are very tasty. Con’s: *You are truly isolated here and this resort (or peninsula) desperately needs some type of small convenience store. The resort tells you they sell sundries and snacks at their gift shop but the selection is laughable. Having somewhere you could walk or bike to for snacks (especially those with kids) would be incredibly helpful. *They’re no signs anywhere. For any of the landmarks on the resort. We spent 45 minutes trying to find the yoga Shala because it’s so inconspicuous. *Speaking of the Yoga shala. Don’t charge $2k a night for a basic room and then expect us to shill $50 for a 45 minute Yoga class. The fact fitness classes aren’t included is not only rare, it’s absurd. *Lastly, as a couple others have mentioned, the music (specifically on the beach club side of the resort) is super obnoxious. A: it’s too loud. B: the vibe of this hotel is not young singles. It’s families and couples. So why are you blasting club music? I would definitely return to the FS Costa Rica and Im being a bit nit picky but again, if youre going to ask this price point, you gotta deliver.

Most Excellent Stay,Fantastic private tours with nomad!! Just back from a fantastic stay @ 4Seasons CR. Our whole family loved every single part of our visit. Rooms, activities, food(!), service(!), attention to detail, location, etc. all outstanding! Highly recommend it to anyone even remotely considering. Excursions: Yes, much of what you want to see will be a 1-2 hour drive from the hotel. Go for it! nomadtourscr will take such good care of you that the drive will fly by and be as fun as the destination. Exceptional service, private tours, engaging guides and everything you want to see here in Costa Rica. We left the hotel for some full days Rain forest, La leona water fall hike/Volcano tour and one half day River Boat tour. You will not be disappointed with either of these. All in all, the FS was the best choice for our family. Everyone was happy with food, fun and activities, suites and property. Pura Vida!!!

Pora Vida! We loved this Vacation! Beautiful location, gorgeous well appointed room, but the staff made the experience absolutely unforgettable and our family will return, without fail. Cindy ( and Maria Jose) at the cabanas were the most friendly, kind and genuinely service oriented staff. We loved the cabana experience and booked it daily for a “home base”’for our young adult family. David and Gustavo always came around for fun perks. Jessica the rooms manger was warm and welcoming and most accommodating . Dylan and the concierge staff made our itinerary seamless and were always willing to accommodate any last minute changes. The hotel has a Clefs D’Or Concierge so anything is possible ! The staff at Bahia at Breakfast were the best wait staff at the resort. The genuine warmth of the Costa Rican people emanated from this staff. We can’t wait to come back to see Chiqutipito, Omar, Sharron, Ana and Iris. We stayed in a beautiful residence for 6 nights. The bell staff( Diego, Enrique, Jaire) were always available and friendly to drive us up the hill in the golf carts. We loved visiting and speaking Spanish with the housekeeping staff especially Angel Amaya and Franklin. Must do the monkey tour with Jahaira and Luis who went to town to get a birthday cake for my husband at a famous bakery . The volcano wrap at the spa was the perfect amount of relaxation. Jarmiela was gentle and kind. Worth every penny. Use your Amex benefits. Pora Vida El Familia Fredrickson
