Stay away!!! This is a very old property. Rooms are very very small, dusty, dirty and roach infested. They might be water bugs because they are so huge and even if they spray they will still be in the pipes, walls, and you might bring some home in your luggage by accident. Rugs are old and dirty, people at front desk might barely be 18, elevator is tiny. Parking is a block away in an open and unsecured lot. Window unit for air conditioning was very loud. Check Yelp reviews too if you want to see how many people posted about the roaches.

DONT EVEN CONSIDER!! DANGEROUS AND FILTHY Absolutely the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, and not just because of the filthy, disgusting rooms and smelly hallways. The staff is so clueless and unhelpful. First they give us the wrong room key 3 times, one of them being for a room ALREADY OCCUPIED. Condoms and sex toys all on the floor (no I'm not a prude, but I don't expect to walk into someone's room and invade their privacy). The "manager" Reggie then tells us we'll get $20 off our stay for the trouble (a $300 stay). We finally go up to our room and when I walk in, take my shoes off and I step ON A RUSTY NAIL STICKING OUT OF THE FLOOR. I call and Reggie takes his sweet time coming up to check it out. He comes in and steps on the nail a few times with his shoe, as if to say "what's the big deal?". Finally the maintenance guy comes up and just plucks it out like no big deal. I bring all this up the next day at check out and every single employee tries to give me the runaround and sweep it under the rug, while I'm expressing how dangerous that was FOR A HOTEL. finally they agree to credit us an additional $30, now were up to $50 off this already overpriced, filthy and DANGEROUS hotel. So I check my bank statment and they only credited us $15 off. When I called to ask why they just gaslighted me and not only continued to sweep all of it under the rug and claim they can't do anything, Reggie denied ever even offering the discount at all. Reggie and the combative front desk woman I spoke with deserve to be fired immediately. Please shut this deathtrap down and never ever stay at this sorry excuse for a hotel.

All the cash for no flash If your goal is to pay top dollar (higher than we’ve paid around the world) for mediocre (at best) accommodations and abysmal customer service, this is the place for you. We were in the “good” tower, yet the furnishing and decor were Spartan: somewhere between dorm room and clinic. The beds were uncomfortable, and not all toiletries and linens were present. Don’t bother to try to talk to management - they will claim the woefully untrained staff are “just kids” “not lawyers” and can’t be expected to accurately answer guest questions. Please understand that “historic” building is code for old and run down. The mini split AC was not working in one of the rooms and had been replaced with a window unit. We were thankfully placed in a “quiet” room, but this did not prevent us from hearing the drunken revelers in the hall as clear as if they were standing in the room with us. The common spaces are dirty and the hall carpet looked filthy. You cannot see the beach from the hotel. It is as noted a block away, behind a tall beachfront building. In the morning my husband went in search of coffee. Another guest requested decaf, and was told that they had to wait, as they could only brew one pot of coffee at a time, but “we’re ordering more of these. “Pastries would arrive between 9 and 10.” Time to go. So if you are looking for an expensive crash pad to sleep off a night of partying, this might be a good place. Just don’t expect any frills or service.

Worst hotel experience in a lifetime of travel My husband and I stayed three nights in this hotel while attending a family funeral. We should have known how things were going to work out when, at check-in, we saw 3 other couples complaining about their rooms. We had requested a quiet room both when making the reservation and upon check-in. We were placed in a room on the 2nd Floor next to the elevator. We went back to the front desk and were moved to a room on the third floor, but still experienced ear-splitting music on the 3rd night, from midnight until 2 AM. We repeatedly called the front desk and no one ever picked up. We left the hotel at 6am and, again, there is no staff or security to be found anywhere on the first floor. We did see a young woman crying and it looked like she had been sleeping in the lobby. When I tried to call the hotel to discuss our sleepless night, no one answered and every single mailbox was full. I wrote an email to the front desk and received no response. Two days later, I finally reached the front desk and was told that the manager was not available to speak with guests. But I persevered and eventually the manager, Eddie G, became available. Eddie's response was that there was no music playing at that hour and that the hotel staff go home at 11:00. I told him that our bed was vibrating with the booming bass music and that we felt completely on our own to deal with it. He told me that we should have come down stairs to deal with the problem ourselves. So, it was our fault? And to whom would we have spoken? I persisted in questioning how a hotel of this size could possibly not have someone on duty during the night...he had no answer. He said there is a security person on at night, but we didn't see anyone in sight when we left a little after 6 AM. How would a guest experiencing an emergency know how to reach this security guard? This hotel is run by a young unprofessional crew. The paint is chipping off of the sinks and tubs. The linens are threadbare. There was no housekeeping in 3 days of lodging. Eddie says you have to request it but no one bothers telling you that at check-in and they put a blue sticker on our door each day, which seemed to indicate that they had cleaned our room. When my husband requested ice, he was told to go find it himself in a room off the lobby where a raucous party was going on. The ice was located in their commercial Kitchen. Even in pre-Covid times I'm sure it is a violation to have guests wandering around a commercial kitchen. It just didn’t seem that the staff cared very much about providing a courteous and professional environment for this guest. Finally, I asked Eddie to have his supervisor call me. Eddie said he didn't know how to contact him. Really? You will not be surprised to hear that a week later we still have not heard from the supervisor. I think that there are YMCA's which are run more professionally than this place. The Long Beach Hotel is not only very run down, it is also unsafe, and run by people who have no interest in their customer's comfort and well-being. And, NOT ONCE did Eddie apologize for our experience. We'll be contacting our credit card company about this charge. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

Never Again!!! Lobby looks pretty from afar but look close and you will not believe how dirty everything is....when was the last time they dusted this place. So dirty in the hallways and the carpet should be replaced....yesterday. Room was small and our door to the bathroom wouldn't close all the way. Last but most important, we walked out of our door in the morning to a 3 inch roach (my husband said he has not seen one that big since living in Hawaii), he killed it! Disgusting! Was going to eat breakfast there but lost our appetite and checked out right away! Terrible experience! Never again!
