Fantastic coaching inn, fantastic team So much history, so much character. Room 5 on the haunted corridor was a great size as was the telly. Again loads of character. Food nothing fancy or huge portions but really tasty both times, the most important. Courtyard so great in the sunshine. Now for the staff. You had lovely super friendly chatterbox Sarah in the bar, never without a smile on her face. With her was super nice John with whom I had a fascinating chat with, never knew it used to be Trust House Forty, a brand I knew well and loved as a kid. And not missing the housekeeping staff, left me a.lovely letter giving their 3 names which I've sadly forgot. Never had that at a hotel before, not even the Ritz (one off) and the room was spotless and respected the Do not Disturb sign unlike others. Was it Sue on reception, again lovely and chatty. Did I have visitors she asked. Well that huge bang on checkout day 08.15 could have been other (very noisy) guests but I swore the bed vibrated at the same time. Terrific stay, will be back.

Pre-Elizabethan Elegance with all the mod cons! This is a beautiful historic building, with many references in the decor to its Tudor/Elizabethan and Medieval past, with many original pieces. The staff are lovely and friendly. The food was delicious. Our room was very comfortable, and a delight to stay in. Thank you to Lindy, Jo and Sally for preparing it.

Wonderful amazing stay What a mistake to stay at the Bull Hotel at Long Melford as this is now my new bench mark for everywhere else I stay, and I think I will be disappointed. Amazing friendly and professional staff, nothing was to much trouble, stay there to attend a friend's wedding and for to see lots of the room and each as well presented as the last, excellent food, great atmosphere and plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy
