Hidden fees and charges The hotel is under renovation. They don’t have a baggage storage room to hold your luggage in case you arrive early or leave later in the day after check out. Due to my arriving flight being delayed, I ended up only having a few hours stay at this hotel, but despite this, they asked to scan my card for “incidentals.” Fine. But imagine my shock when they charged my card $30 the next day after I checked out. I rang them to find out what the charge was for and discovered it was a “destination fee.” Wtf is a destination fee?! They said it was to cover the shuttle busses to/from airport (which I did not use), the two 50ml bottles of water in the room, and the coffee and tea provided in room - again, none of which I consumed, considering I literally only had time to have a shower and get an hour’s sleep. I have stayed at other hotel on W Century Blvd and none of the others charge a ridiculous “destination fee” for what are supposed to be services included in the room rate. Avoid this place!

Shuttle refuses to stop for disabled passengers My daughter and her friend are currently staying at this hotel for a 4 day disabled convention. Both are in wheelchairs they arrived at different times, but both tried to flag down the shuttle bus driver who refused to stop. Each of them had to wait over an hour, one girl had an able bodied person flag down the shuttle, and my daughter was lucky as two other hotel shuttles (Thank you Sheraton lax and Holiday Inn) and stopped when they saw her still waiting an hour later, they called the hotel for her! Once at the hotel they were greeted with construction and noise, they were not made aware of the construction before arrival. If they had been the hotel would have been cancelled as one of the girls needs to rest in the afternoons due to her medical condition. Shame on Sonesta - disability training and honesty practices are sorely lacking.

Save your money and sleep at the airport. This was one of the worst hotel stays we have had in a long time. We picked to hotel for its proximity to the airport and because we thought we could grab dinner and some drinks before bed and an early flight the next morning. Hotel was under major construction and all restaurants were either closed or moved in to old outdated ballrooms within the hotel. We didn't want to spend $30 on a cheese burger to eat in an old dark convention room. There was nothing on the web site to let us know everything was closed and hours were different than what were posted. Hallways were dirty, carpet was stained. The room was run down. Check in was also a mess, anyone who had booked through third party sites were being charges several hundred dollar room holds, or rooms weren't available at all. In addition to the fee already paid for the room we had to pay a $30 destination fee. We actually called friends that were staying at the same hotel so they could switch to somewhere else. Would never stay here again.

Expensive parking but great valet help! The stay was average because of 3 main things: they charge $25 dollars EACH time you take your car out of garage. I found this excessive. Also the pillows were huge and hard and didn't form at all to my neck so I didn't sleep well, there are no free movie options and the smell in the hallways was awful. Thankfully the room didn't smell. But there was construction from 8am on all day also. In other much better news, however, their valet guys were wonderful. I particularly want to highlight Jona. He was incredible. I had flown across the country for 1 night to go to a memorial. He let me leave my car outside while I went up to change and he worked with the hotel to let me check in early. I love people who are not robotic but are professional, competent, helpful, kind and can think with someone's individual needs. Jona demonstrated those qualities and I am ever grateful for him as I could have missed the memorial had he not helped me. Thank you so much Jona!!!!
